Superb radio, owned a few, only thing i did'nt like was the ott s meter on fm, nothing you can do really unless you have a signal generator & realign the setting for the rx s meter in the menus, as there is no internal VR for the rx meter.Other than that i love this little transceiver & would quite happily pay £200+ for one of these anyday than pay £150+ for a 4MHZ coverage 21 watts output President lincoln. So much more in the trusty TS50 emoticon

Re: Kenwood TS-50S

i love this radio, i have noticed the receive meter reading is a bit high on FM but use the AIP/ATT button to get round this(although i dont use it on FM)also the modulation is quiet on FM but i will give it a tweak to se if i can bring this up a bit. Anyway on SSB its excellent, outgoing audio is punchy and clear and the receive audio is very nice and soft. If this radio had a compressor built in it would blow away nearly all modern day radios for audio quality on a standard mic. deffo recommend this little baby rather than buy a Magnum S9 for nearly as much money
