Re: 27A boomerang balcony
I thought I would write my review of this antenna first, to get it out of the way
This is likely to be the worst performing 11m band antenna I have ever come accross. SWR ing the thing took ages up and down a ladder as not only does the small adjustment on the ground plane alter the swr, but the angle of the thing does as well.
Once I got a semi decent SWr, I found it was incredibly narrow and outside of the 40 channels 27/81 the swr went up.
I couldnt hear stations that I could hear before, even off of a mobile antenna fixed to the garage roof! It wouldnt get out nearly as well as the mobile antenna. Also I noted that it was directional. I suppose this should be fairly obvious considering its configuration.
My advice is dont go near these with a barge pole unless you need a big dummy load
Scores 1 out of 5 (For scrap value)
