Hi Al, yes this radio barren land we're in atm on HF is very depressing. But it'll sort the men from the boys eh? emoticon Come the revolution we'll all be ready for the prop, a lot of others will be floundering at the ebay and junksale store desperately trying to catch us up emoticon

Yep, thats right Dave, a lot of us have been here before, I would love some decent prop but I`ll quite happily chat away to someone just down the road (if anyone was there!)Looking forward to next 2 weeks holls, at least there is hope for some more new contacts. Have put the beam up at home, just temp for now, tuned in straight away, just not heard anyone on yet but I dont have a rotator yet and not sure where the hell I am aiming! All fun though, have another go when I get back.
Al

hi mate.ive widebanded my 817 for full tx,its pretty easy to do using a soldering iron, which is cheaper than buying the required data cable and getting the software needed to open these rigs up.ill let you know how if you need, just drop us a line on here.
theyre a great little radio, considering their tiny size but take a bit of working with to get out the full potetial.
got my foundation test booked for may 8th so will at least be able to tx with chance of a qso further than 3 miles away LOL.albeit over on "the dark side"....
long live 11.
