Why is it that when I try to enter my call into their database, I get the following message?
"Editor: Sorry, you are not authorized to update the callsign database."

I have cookies enabled and Javascript, and use Firefox.

I have also tried IE, but with the same results.

Looks like a really crappily designed web site, as with IE it tries to install 'Flash ActiveX'. No thanks!

Anyone else had this problem and know the way round it? Or maybe I shouldn't bother, but it seems everyone I contact directs me to the bleddy place for more info. Like teenagers and MSN, they're all at it! Lambs to the slaughter maybe??

Are you trying to input your infomation for the first time ? If so you cannot do this, you need someone else to do it for you.
What happens is someone else enters your details & then hands the callsign over to you for you to control.
Go to the QRZ forum & find DX Helpers which is at the bottom of the page list & add your details there for someone to add you. Or find an amateur to do it for you.

Ah - this may well be the problem then. I didn't realise this proceedure was necessary, and yes, this is the first time I have tried to put my call into the database and add some info.

yes someone has to kind of sponsor you then you can get on.its good on QRZ for getting technical questions answered but you have to sift through all the cheeseball repliers who think they,re the funniest thing since Heather Mill,s leg got lost at "check in"
