Re: 40 metres today
Lots of QRM on 40 today very very busy band, still is right now Lots of big gun AR ops, not my favourite band if I'm honest, lot of guys up their own bums Just dismiss you out of hand after a few seconds and move on to the next contact. I feel like shouting "Oi, listen up, how about some conversation here, not much just hi how yer doing will be good enough"

Re: 40 metres today
Yep, one of the problems with amateur radio - they are so restricted as to subjects of conversation.
Nice contacts though.

Re: 40 metres today
And what's with all this 5/9 lark?
Don't any of the meters on the rigs show anything less than this?
And doesn't anyone have crap modulation? Actually I know the answer to this one, and it's 'yes'. I heard a guy talking to another back along, and one of the guys had bad RF feedback or something messing up his modulation, but the other guy still called it a readability of 5.
What is the point??

Re: 40 metres today
i wont be just 5 n 9'in if i go on there hopefully treat it more like 11meters. i know when people are doing a contest they try to cram as many as they can in and thats fair enough, but that is mostly all i hear from europe stations on 80 meters. US stations seem to like a bit more of a chat
