Hello one & all.

Well what do I say ?
I first got on air in the mid 70's whilst at school & then progressed to the point which led to a series of meetings with the likes of Mr Eric Gotts in the London area & Mr Preston in the Midlands.
I then had a period were I went back to SWL'ing & Scanner operation with the odd portable outing & have just recently, thats over the past few years started to make the odd QSO outing using amateur equipment again.

Suffolk, now if you like Mil Air there's lots going on there.

Hi there all, welcome to the forum, I would be interested to know a bit more about the MW Radio Albatross you mentioned, we have two free MW radio stations over here in NI, well actually they are in the republic, they have been on as long as I have remembered. Hope to catch some of you on the air soon.

Radio Albatross have a website under construction at
http://www.radioalbatross.org/

They seem to have a few different crystals...They have been logged on 1476, 576 & 819 kHz. They also run a FM TX on 87.6...
The information that seems to be doing the rounds of radio listeners sites would seem to come from Albatross themselves & says they use 250 watts via a Marconi T at 13 meters on 819 kHz.

I remember good old Westside & was it Prince Terry on 6280KHz.Which I may have also used from time to time before Westide swittched on for thie luncch time TX.
Personally I do not use CB & never have. But I can be found on 6.670, 3.475 & a few other places.

Re: Hello one & all.

Thanks Crimso, for the info about the R Albatross. I don't use 11m as much as I thought I would either, but I keep that antenna up anyway as it works on other bands.

We have Radio North on 846KHz here with about 1KW output from Donegal, the music format is C&W and gospel stuff which I am not really into, There is a morning show on there that the station boss does with 60s 70s and 80s music which is good though. The other station is Radio Star on 981KHz from Co Monaghon, it has an American C&W format too which I am not really into.

Long gone are the days over here when free radio stations where all over the dial AM and FM, fond memories.
