Back on 11metres and happy :)
Just thought I would say hello to all you 11metre operators out there. I have recently found my Cobra 148GTL-DX and Turner Expander 500 hiding in my parents loft, The only problem is I have no where to mount a decent antenna so I am using a small CTE loft style antenna which seams to be working ok at the moment, 240Watts SSB helps tho
Are there any other South Wales stations about? I monitor 27.555 most times...Give me a shout sometime...51's & 73's...Rich 163Fb186

Welcme to the forums and to the Foxtrot Bravo group Rich. Fairly low propagation right now, but we've had a few good days on and off recently
What about a wire antenna, any space for a G5RV or something similar? Mobile antennas work at home but no where near as well as a base aerial, something like a simple 1/2 wave silver rod maybe? Only cost a few quid and plenty of DXing can be done with that set up
Good luck, I got into Wales Sunday just gone so you may hear me shouting my head off on 555 when the props in

Re: Back on 11metres and happy :)
Hi all and thanks for the warm welcome. I did have an antron 99 and another antron style antenna called a 'probe 5800' which is quite rare as I have never seen another probe antenna. But I have moved QTH and have no roof to put up and antenna, im in a flat. I did manage a QSO into spain tho so it's not too bad. Im on a mission to get my hands on a Cobra MK5 if anyone has one they would like to sell me Cheers all...Rich
