Hi All,

Just like to say hello and nice to be in the group, a lot of interesting reading.
My name is Steve and I live in Javea Spain, been here for 6 years. Been involved in radio since 1978. Now I run a Kenwood TS-870 and the antenna would be a half size Carolina windom.
Spoken to a far few FB members this is what drove me to joining the group, hope to speak to many more once propagation improves.
My previous call was 30WW388 or OZ767.
Work wise I'm not retired, wishful thinking,
I repair motorcycle electronic ignition systems.

73,

Steve

Re: Hi All,

Thanks for the warm welcome lads, seems like radio and bikes go together, ran a Ducati 748SPS for six years, now have a Husaberg FS550 good fun on these Spanish mountain roads.

Ok for the info Patrick, the service menu has given me grief in the past that's why I know a bit about it.
My 870 was one of the first back in 1995, but it has the factory receive mod done before I bought it seven years ago, they say it makes a big difference to the front regarding over load, I have also fitted new filters from INRAD, now thinking about doing a bit of eSSB, this is some thing I would like some advise on.

Earlier this year mine suffered an ALC problem and reading up on it on the net sounded like a DC-DC converter problem, I replaced this circuit but didn't solve the problem, just needed the service menu realigning.

Yes Chris all is well now with the ALC, and I still get the QRM from the XYL about doing the shopping.

Hope to speak with all real soon.

73,

Steve.
