New to this BB
Hi,
Just to introduce myself. I am AC1W from Wales, I have been into freebanding since the age of 12 so that's 24 years, jeesus, that's a long time. I'm old!
Anyhow, been off the air since the 90s and about to jump back in as soon as I get a radio.
Looking to buy a Kenwood TS 480 sat but may need to convert it myself looking at what's on e-bay.
My favourite bands are 11 & 86. 45 I used but never really felt comfortable on there.
In my 11Meter days I was an Alfa Tango member and worked some cracking places.
I've always unfortunately jumped back in at the bottom of the sunspot cycle.
Glad to see the hobby is still alive and kicking. Look forward to getting back on the air and starting the hobby from scratch.
Any advice on the best groups to join?
A lot has changed!

Re: New to this BB
Thanks to everyone for the welcome.
I dug out my telescopic mast and erected it this weekend but that was to stick my Welsh flag on after the rugby .
Definitely making a comeback soon to HF. Just figuring out the logistics first.
Usually I buy the radio then figure out where it's going , antennas etc but this time I'm going to plan it properly.
Antenna location first, along with mast then get the kit.
May even stick it in the vehicle, maybe both.
Anyhow, planning stage today, buy the radio next week so may even be QRV by next weekend HiHI
