A big HI all from N. Wales
Well, its been a while since I seen my old cb, but while decorating spare room (we all have to do it sometime) there it was, all boxed up, where it had been for at least 12 years! I then found out my antenae was nowhere to be found so quickly found one on ebay, just waiting for it to come now. Should be here in a week or so, just hope it all still works!
And friends said cb was dead! Nice to have found this site, just hope it all comes back to me when I get back on the air.
I see there is at least someone down Devon end, be down there for holls in May. Have to wait to see if anyone is on up this end.

Welcome along mate 
If you can get into Merseyside, theres quite a few breakers over that way, depending on your location and equipment you may even get into me in Shropshire, I regularly make SSB contacts with North Wales

Hi yamanx, I sort of thought for some reason you would have been in IOM, must be the manx bit! I am based sort of between Wrexham, Chester, Mold area, with a few big hills not far away so will have to wait and see. Will just be mobile for a while.
I use (or used to use, if it still works!) Lincoln with Astatic mic, rig is standard but have loads of old qsl cards that I also found, so glad they never got thrown out with a lot of my other stuff that was just rubbish!-according to wife that is, god bless em.
Shropshire you say, think I was a member of a club from your way, OWL dx club, thats a few years ago though.
May chat one day soon, who knows!

Hello North Wales.
I'm in West Wales near Aberystwyth.
I've just bought a new radio and so far installed it in my vehicle, on the day I did this the vehicle broke down and is in the garage.
I never did get to test the radio out!
When I get the car back and set up the radio again we should try and make a contact, would be interesting for both of us to see if our equipment works!
I can get very high above sea level at my QTH but your part of Wales is on the margins unless you get up in them hills!

Well got the mobile antenna now and I put up me old base one, just temp for now till I get a ladder, was suprised it worked after all these years! Will give it a test in the morning, Sunday, just been on now and heard nothing. Anyone hear me in the morning please be gentle with me as its a long time since I been on the air.lol

Seems like there's a few of us rediscovering the old passion! I, too, just recently dug out the old gear, and am still in the process of cleaning up cases, dusting off valves, and making up patch leads.
Oh what fun!!

Thanks Andy, will be down your way for 2 weeks holls in May, have to bring me gear down with me! Think its May anyway, wife has the details, I just get in the car and drive! I know we are staying somewhere near St. Austel anyway, any hills near there? Anyway will have a play while I`m down there
