Sending and recieving QSL's
I know this subject comes up quite often. I am doing a sort of experiment using some statistical anylasis of QSl receipts. I will have some data on DX Groups bad and good, divisions, email and post etc. So far I have found that email, EQSL's, are largely ignored and postal QSL's are more than twice as likely to be returned.

Re: Sending and recieving QSL's
i prefer having the cards through the post, email is all to easy and you could of got your mates to mail them, at least you get a post mark when sent through post, and strange stamps(not that i'm a collecter)

Re: Sending and recieving QSL's
I have to say I agree, I thought I prefered email, as its instant, you can share much more in the way of contact and images. Its possible to arrange meets on certain frequencies, you can instantly ask questions about you friends on the radio etc etc.
But getting a QSL card through the post is exciting, its the difference between recieving a letter and an email, theres no comparison. I really look forward to getting cards through the post. I phone my wife from work "Any post for me?" Love it, and I send out QSL cards 100% no question, sometimes it costs me a fortune after a good weekend on the radio, but when they start rolling in, its worth every penny

Re: Sending and recieving QSL's
whoohooo, I just found a load of old qsl cards, I had a load in a carrier bag but thought I had some more somewhere, just been looking through them-found cards from places I dont even remember working, all from years ago-1980`s. Thought these were gone forever. Going to count up how many divisions I have, will be interesting to know. I remember thinking when I started that the 150 confirmed divs to join some clubs was unatainable, but looking through all these can see its quite possible. Will count them when I have a spare hour or so.

Re: Sending and recieving QSL's
Would like to do that Dave, dont have a scanner so I would have to photograph each one, would take ages-a few wet Sunday afternoons, and we do seem to get quite a few of those! Any ideas on what software would be best to use? Or maybe a website I could just upload them to, maybe photobucket?
Anyone else done this?

Re: Sending and recieving QSL's
Just noticed that a few of the old qsl cards have Ham radio call signs on them, a few I cant tell where they come from!
