Rm Linear problem, help required
I have one RM KL400, in bits and another RM KL500.
I wont bore you with all the details of how and why, but I want to make one good one out of the two.
I'm not a complete numpty with regard to fixing things and I have some idea what some of the parts are and what they do.
I cant tell you whether the KL 500 was working before as I only have the word of the chap who sold it to me and he says it was working perfect. But it was damaged in the post, the front was smashed in tearing off the control knob and PCB.
There is eveidence that the small output control PCB has been severely over heated at some time.
I have fitted the Output control Pcb and knob from the KL400. KL500 works but only up to 120w, Why might this be?
Supposing I wanted to do away with the provision for regulating the powwer output, how can I acheive this?
Would I still need that small PCB?
It connects to the main PCB via three points.
How can I test the parts?
I realise the resistors have to be removed to test, but will I have to remove the transistors to test them?
Can you help?
