Re: Ranger RCI-2950 DX
Hi Steve
Loved my first ranger till it started getting hot ............so much so got another one after p.o.lost my first one .... great reports on fm and sideband .been told its ace on sideband no drifting at all tx or rx and they cover 24-32 megs do go lower and higher with just a few key presses and jumper changes ... two people i chat to on fm were impressed they got 1 changed from deltaforce and a ss3900 respectively

Re: Ranger RCI-2950 DX
I had the 2970dx, 150 watts and was well pleased with it, it did get hot though on full power. I now have a Kenwood TS480sat with 100watts and this would blow the Ranger away! Looking back I dont think the Ranger got anywhere near its claimed 150watts! Now I have lots to listen to and work when 11m is dead.

Re: Ranger RCI-2950 DX
hi, i did the same, bought a superstar3900, works great and has all the bits i wanted, it was however more expensive than the hf rig i have now and i wish i had just gone and bought this one first, as it opens up all the other frequencies even if its just for listening!

Re: Ranger RCI-2950 DX
hi mate.great 11 metre radio but these are selling for 175 up.i wolud have been made up to make the 130 back on my beloved lincoln(very similar radio) that did 10,11,and 12 meters but thanks to the kind ebayer who paid me 215 sheets for it last weekend,i can now whip in nice full HF radio without putting any of my own brass in.try something like a yaesu 747gx for around £160 as your first radio rather than the ranger.

Re: Ranger RCI-2950 DX
overpriced sh!te.. nothing good about them (why are they so damned expensive???) same league as any other CB RADIO put an extra £50 and get a radio that isnt based on 1980s CB technology
rant over....!
