Help - can't remember my favourite CB radio!

I'm wracking my brains trying to remember details of my favourite cb radio and I wonder whether anyone can help.

In about 1987 I bought a brand new Uniden PR27GB 40 channel CEPT radio. It was basically one of
these but the PR27GB version was black rather than silver. It was just about the best fm cb I've ever owned and far more sensitive than any other 27mHz gear I've used. I think it might have been a Uniden 400, as opposed to the CB 27/81 version which was silver and, I think, was called a Uniace 400.

I didn't have the radio for very long as I needed some dosh to buy a scanner and sold it - still wish I hadn't emoticon

I have a photograph of it but it's so small it's not possible to read the model number. I 'm sure some of you have been around a while and just might be able to assist my failing memory emoticon

Ha... just answered my own question - I found one on eBay
which I would have bought were it not for the fact that it's been converted to the UK channels. Oh well, at least I know what I'm looking for now emoticon

i used to have one too - and as i remember, these radios were a little lacking in the transmitted audio department - they were deliberately set a little low, easy fix, adjust the fm dev pot on the board a bit.

try and find one that someones modded for the old legals as well - these rigs had a terrific front end on recieve. well, it is a uniden!

good luck!

If it Aint broke, don't fix it, and if you do, don't tell anyone you touched it
