posticon Planning permission?

I have just been asked if I need to apply for planning permission before erecting a mast for my antenna. I have to say i'm not sure what the rules and regs are can you advise me?

(I have planted a 21' pole and mounted a sirio 827 approx 20' more)

Also while im on...do you think I should tune it for side band or cb? I want to use both, just to confuse the issue a bit.

Re: Planning permission?

SSB is a mode not a frequency, however I think you mean should you tune for 27555 or for 2778125, no contest, 27555 everytime emoticon

As for planning, some local authorities differ, but you are supposed to have planning for anything over 3m high, if its permanent. You can have a removable mast, something not permamnent, which is not really practical with an 827. Or you can get Planning. This will cost you £130, you can fill in the form over the internet. You will very likely get it as its not structual and anyone who objects will only be likely to object to the view.

You cant stop planning because of the view, nobody owns a view. Therefore theres no real objection :0

good luck emoticon
