What size mast for A99? 2"?

What size mast should I use to put my A99 on?
It will be bolted on to side of house on gable end and I want it to clear the other aerials, I am guessing it needs to be about 10ft ish, would you use 2 inch? And where do you get them from, scaffolding posts look a good alternative to.

2" should be fine, i used to use an alloy scaffold tube, alot lighter than the steel ones.

the more height the better.. a friend of mine told me a story, fact of fiction i dont know .but
it was said that about 10 people got together on rig and decided to chip in and paid for a company to scafold only one elevation at the back of this mans house claiming so he could paint all the downstairs windows with ease so as you can imagine it was cheap and was very quick to put up and the coast spread between about ten people who all got about 3 nice long ally scaff poles each was not too bad,,,, i would of loved to hear the phone call to the place in the morning """ well it was there last night when i went to bed """ give it a go i will chip in

haha, yes, nice one, can see it now, 10 cars hitting the motorway each with a 20ft pole on the roof!!!
Seen an ad in the paper tonight-for sale, 5 telegraph poles, £15 each. To big???? Maybe cable tie them all together? Be one hell of a size then.
We have a scaffolding firm near us so I`ll give them a ring first, see how much they are, if they will sell just 1.
Thanks for the idea though, will keep it in mind!

They should sell you a pole, cant see why not? Ali scaffold pole is 1" 29/32" O/D (No idea why such an odd size but there ya go) and 4.5mm wall thickness, should cost you around £40, Oh and comes in at 6.4m long. Easily strong enough even for your Moonraker 4 emoticon Just make sure your fixings are as strong emoticon

Service Metals will sell you a pole and deliver it for £15, google them emoticon

I take it the £15 is just for delivery, not for the pole as well-that would be cheap! What length did you have for that anyway?

emoticon The only silly question is the one you dont ask emoticon

They are 6.4m long, or shorter, but oddly enough it will cost you more for a short one probably as you'll pay for a man to cut it.
