200 watt linear


Saw it on Ebay and couldnt help myself, so I bought it. A RM KL400 amp!

Let you know how it performs as soon as I have me dipole set up.

I promissed myself I wouldnt get into it so fast, doh!

I'm not that impressed with this peice of kit. The blurb says it does 200w am/fm and it certainly measures that on the meter, but I dont seem to get out as much as I do when I'm not using it and only using the 100w from the radio.

I'll keep it for now and use it whilst mobile or on my boat, but I'm not convinced that just power of a linear is all that is required to make longer distances.
