SWR BRIDGE hows it work????


i have an SMC relative power/swr bridge, with no instructions and i cant understand how to set it, or how it works. anyone else used one??
two meters on it, power and swr.

Is this one of those that requires you to set it & then check SWR ?
If so place the switch onto set or forward or what ever the thing says, rotate knob until needle is on set on the dial & then flick the switch to reflected power, or what ever the thing says.
Give me a cross needle meter anyday.

there is no switch!! just a rotatable knob.

Is it a SMC T3-170L? I can find a few for sale, but no infomation about them.

it does HF and 2 metres, but no idea how it works!!

It should have a calibration impedance you set it to to give FSD then unplug and use it without adjusting anything. If you havent got one you can use a 1/4 of coax but its freq relative so will only calibrate at one freq. have you tried a 50 ohm dummy load?

hi john, im not sure were talking about the same thing? there is a power meter on the left and an swr meter on the the right, in the middle is a control knob (variabe), thats it, no forward/reflected power or owt...
