Tuners??
right i guess now i got the radio i need to start looking for a tuner, cheapest would be best for a start. So anyone got any favourates or know much info about any good tuners, auto or manual??

Definately go for manual, I have have both. The auto tuner is excellent for the ham bands but didnt work so well outside of these. I got it to work by taking the lid off and manual tuning the capacitors. Not ideal.
Manual tuners are pretty good at matching everything to 50 ohms. It doesnt mean you're going to get out better, but it does mean some wire antennas can be used accross a lot of bands. Theres a ham chap that uses a mountain bike for his antenna somewhere and works DX on 20m with it!!
You'll need one to cope with the power you intend to put through it, you dont necessarily need one with a metre if you want to keep the cost down as you can use your own metre inline.
However my advice, for what its worth, is get one with a built in metre, and an inductance coil. This is a third dial. But you can get fairly good value for money Mfj ATU's. Good old Ebay
