Captain America
Is to be played by Torchwood's Captain Jack, John Barrowman, apparently.

Re: Captain America
It's a rumour that popped up recently but it's totally unconfirmed. I would put large amounts of money on it not being true.

Re: Captain America
So who would you guess they might ask?
I can't imagine Americans choosing a Scot with fake accent to play Cap.

Re: Captain America
That's weird, I hear that they were going to avoid having Captain America... maybe I should question my sources.

Re: Captain America
Try the IMDB.
Here.

It's not clicky.
Here's an article that says Captain America can't be played by a gay actor.
http://www.beyondhollywood.com/john-barrowman-as-captain-america-never-gonna-happen/
I find that strange, but maybe its because I'm not American.
Also, from what I've heard, he's lived in America since he was five or something, so his accent isn't really fake, its developed.
I think he'd be great at it. I can't really think who else they could get. No one springs to mind.

Re: Captain America
As far as I know he's not a famous face in America, and I think they'll want somebody recognisable. Ed Norton and Robert Downey Jr are well known and respected actors, maybe not "A-list" but with some credibility. You need to look at somebody in the same category. (No, I have no idea who.)
Plus Steve Rogers is blonde. Yes, I know they don't *have* to stick rigidly to the same look, but I think they will in this case. Particularly if the film is set in WW2 -- it's much more ironic having a blonde, blue-eyed American hero fighting Hitler.

Re: Captain America
I'm taking it you've never used hair dye, then, David?
Okay, so what do you think of Rob Lowe (not a rumour, just an opinion.

Re: Captain America
Interesting thought. He ticks most of the boxes... allowing for hair dye
