Freds Blog
A blog seems to be strange place to record the events of your life as a mutant on the run?

Re: Freds Blog
It's slightly more sophisticated and modern to use a blog instead of a traditional journal, though... besides, a 'diary' is probably more Chi-Yun's style.

Re: Freds Blog
But a blogs an on-line record, usually... available for anyone to read. Even if you password protect your site there'll always be a risk of it being compromised. Especially if your enemies suspect your identity.
Ok, I could probably install bloging software and record my diary in it but I'll bet its not as simple as using organiser software (that's been written so managers can use it).
Come to think of it that laptop the they all use is probably wirelessly connected when ever they reach a town so I would count on anyones electronic diary being secure.

Re: Freds Blog
Yes, I see what Knightflyer means. You don't go "on the run" and then put a diary of where you are on your Web site!
There are two possible explanations:
(1) He's only "thinking" about writing a blog, not really writing one. In other words, it's just a narrative trick and has no meaning in the story (it's meta-textual, if you want to impress people).
(2) He is writing a public blog on the Internet. I think this actually fits Fred's personality. He's supposed be media-savvy and for a "loner" he's quite into social activities (clubbing, etc) which could also include blogs, forums, etc.
I've had the vague assumption that he was writing a real blog and changing names and dates. Yes they're supposed to be in hiding, but on the other hand it's something people need to know and if the worst happens at least he's got the information out there. I can even see him posting on "conspiracy theory" forums, or at least reading them to find out who else is being hunted by "werewolves". Read the issue where he meets the reporter (#28) and you can see a pattern to his madness... maybe...
Maybe I need to address it explicitly, though. I'll think about it for an upcoming issue.

Really! I read it on the 'net!
10. FRED:
And we all know that everything you read on line is true!
Maybe this is why Fred believes he can BLOG with impunity...
