Did you watch the last episode of Merlin?

Yes, I forgot until you mentioned it - the poison. How can you kill off the lady in the lake? That's just weird.

Eh, could be worse. I guess now they've had their PC token black person and redhead, they can go back to who they really want as companions. Although I admit, I'm getting bored of female companions. So far they've either been "I'm a Rose-a-like and in love with the Doctor!" or "I'm so utterly completely NOT like Rose in any way, shape or form, the complete opposite, yep, that's me, can't accuse me of being like Rose!", and with present writers, I don't see how they're going to break out of that trend.

As the new Doctor is so young (I think he's about 16) they should give him a granny as an assistant. That would be an interesting dynamic. June Whitfield would be my choice.

And I like the concept of a "token redhead" emoticon

Helen Mirren would be a good contrast, but I think he should get a gay male companion... Dr Who's first gay kiss coming next year. I mean, this is SUPPOSED to be the last doctor, right?

I'm guessing you zoned out on the Chris Eccleston/Captain Jack kiss, then?

I didn't watch the Christopher Eccleston ones - couldn't stand him, so yes. In fact I've only ever watched David Tennant. I'm hoping I like the new guy but I'm yet to be convinced.

Re: Michelle Ryan

Was awesome.

I think she will come back to be with the new doctor; she is self-assured and experienced, and he's young and looks goofy.
