Announcements: Important:HVEL will be relocating to a Proboard, which is currently under construction. It's been great here, hosted by runboard, and this was a great way for me to start out, but due to the more advanced, efficient, manageable, and interchangeable features, I have decided to move HVEL to there. This board will always be here, as a sort of museum to the past HVEL and the promise of the future.

Cool. We don't have a zoo around here, but I did volunteer at the animal shelter this summer. It was cool. Go in for a couple hours, play with the cats. Brush them. Accidentally let them get lost underneath the cages...

I've been to the Detroit Zoo a couple times. It's pretty cool. I'm in awe of some of those critters. I like the tigers. They're so beautiful, and to me they symbolize pride.

No tigers here. Like the name implies, we've got only desert animals. Like nigerian dwarf goats... But tigers are cool! I know someone who is a tiger fanatic.

That sounds cool! But with mom in the hospital, I have barely enough time to keep up with our own animals emoticon .

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. I was thinking about you today. How it's too bad you have to deal with that, especially at a young age.

Well, I can't say that it's the worst I've been through, but it's tough. At least I can go on vacation, but my stepdad can't.

I see, I see. You sound like a strong person.

On topic? Does it matter?

Well, it helps to already have some pre existing problems on your hands (not medical, just some small stuff that really gets on your nerves, such as no internet which means no mooting and therefore no human interaction other than with my mom and stepdad).

In reality, I grew up with this sort of stuff, though nto as bad. My mom was a single (Type 2?) diabetic, as well as blind, so she would at many times have what is called a "low," or a state when she has very low blood sugar (there is another problem that also happens frequently, but works exactly the opposite). I didn' have a clue what to do, and in my eyes her glucose tablets were a cure all for any diabetic problems (and money came free out of ATM machines).

Off topic posts don't matter here. Not enough people to matter. I'm down to two active posters again...just like the old days.

Re: Your pet

My mom has MS (multiple sclerosis?), and she's blind in one eye. So I can relate.

I guess two active posters is better than none. If you think about it, it's kind of like having a very very private mansion.

Well, actually, it's more than a mansion.
It's a theoretically self-sustaining community lacking in humans but in a surprising growth spurt of apes running from the forces of Sauron. Just like the Lost City of Mars. Isn't Ray Bradbury the best?

I don't know of Lost City of Mars, but Farenheit 451 was pretty fun. His writing style is a little over the top, but the stories are good.

Pretty good! They're the best!
But let's bring that to the library. Wait a sec. I have to finish posting this in the Floating Log. It should appear soon...
