"I Sing the Body Electric!" and Other Stories
Ray Bradbury is my favorite author, next to Orwell and Tolkien.
A few of the stories in the collection of his stories that I have have even been made into Twilight Zone Episodes! It has to be good to be on the Twilight Zone.

Re: "I Sing the Body Electric!" and Other Stories
Oh, yeah, Twilight Zone is excellent! Do you know what the episodes were about?
Did you read Farenheit 451 by the way? I read it for school, and even though I didn't finish it before the test, I kept it longer so I could. ^^ I haven't read any of his other stories though.
What is it you like so much about him, anyway?
by the way, my mom said I have to go to bed now (I have a going-away party tomorrow I have to get up earyl for- at 1, hehe). Later.

Re: "I Sing the Body Electric!" and Other Stories
I just like his style of writing, and since reading his stories, and it's quite clear when reading anything I wrote that his style has influenced my own.
Which episodes were about what? (that probably made you as confused as I am)
Good night! Dr. Zaius and I have to figure out where these caves we just discovered under the valley floor came from, and since he just hit Rod Serling with a cast iron skillet, I think he better hide in those caves.

Re: "I Sing the Body Electric!" and Other Stories
Lol! Hey, cast iron skillets are pretty nice though. Anyway..
I meant what were the episodes of The Twilight Zone about? Sorry if I confused you.
I wish I had read some more of his stories so I didn't have to keep talking about Farenheit 451. Anyway, when we read it in class, it was really a little scary. There were all kinds of kids who openly said that they thought it'd be great if we got rid of books, and all in all seemed very much like the people of Montag's society. I think somewhere along the line it became cool to say things like that you don't like reading, and intellectualism (is that a word?) became almost a bad thing.
That book's also a bit of an ego-booster. Because it makes it sound like reading books is this sort of sublime virtue, and if you're reading the book to know that in the first place, obviously you read books. Therefore you're cool. j/k

Re: "I Sing the Body Electric!" and Other Stories
I probably would have got the same reaction out of the kids in my class, too. It really is sad. All of the books like Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, they all have frigtening resemblences of our own world.

Re: "I Sing the Body Electric!" and Other Stories
Yeah. There are so many parallels. I haven't rad 1984 in a really long time but... Well, for one there's the TVs. In Farenheit 451 they were whole walls. Our TVs are getting bigger and more realistic too. A lot of people really are like the people in the story who think of the characters as family. And people don't look at the moon anymore to see a face in it (I see a rabbit cooking, btw).
Anyway, do you know a place I could read "I Sing the Body Electric!" online?

Re: "I Sing the Body Electric!" and Other Stories
Okay! I remember you were moving to Japan. Good luck there!
I had a good vacation, thank you. I'll post the link in a thread I'll eventually create in the Acropolis.
