Announcements: Important:HVEL will be relocating to a Proboard, which is currently under construction. It's been great here, hosted by runboard, and this was a great way for me to start out, but due to the more advanced, efficient, manageable, and interchangeable features, I have decided to move HVEL to there. This board will always be here, as a sort of museum to the past HVEL and the promise of the future.

Favourite Tolkien book?

What is your favourite Tolkien book and why. A poll is attached for voting and the thread is for reasons. Not all books are written entirly by JRR himself.

NOTE: HoME for all those who don't know is History of Middle Earth and includes any in the series.

If it's someone's favourite, they probably know what HoME is. emoticon

Lord of the Rings is my favourite book. I love all three divisions, but if I was forced to choose, I would pick "The Return of the King".

The other book I've read are "The Silmarillion" and "The Hobbit" about Middle-earth.

The Sil and the Hobbit are also completely brilliant.

Yes but if it's not their favourite they may want to know what it is anyway!

I voted for LotR because I like the Sil more than any of the trilogy singally (sp) but together I enjoyed them more than the Sil.

I love that book. But technically, LOTR is one book, and FOTR, TTT, and ROTK are all segments of the same book, and do not belong in the same poll. emoticon

First of all I didn't include LotR as a trilogy in the polls, but the using my super Moderator strenght I deleted the thread and re-did it with LotR included.
