My favorite weapon would have to be that hammer morgoth had in the Sil. The idea of a giant hammer is cool. I giant hammer used for destroying things.

Yes, that is true. Sauron's mace was also designed in the same way, mostly to inflict fear upon the elves who had lived throught Morgoth's time.

Favourite Weapon, great question.
Well for me it has to be Sting, love the whole creation of the elvish weapons that glow when Orcs are near, and love the way, in both book and film, when Sam grabs Sting and stabs Shoelob, brilliant stuff.
