Well, in the book it did mention how much he grew...or Merry thought he was taller, or maybe that was Frodo?

In the books Merry and Pippin woke up after their first night in Fangorn and realised that thy were taller.

I watched TTT last night on Stars. What's with all of the extra suspense with Faramir and how he decides to keep the ring. Not to mention Osgiliath.
