This fly is the true "Sulphur Dun", and is the same fly that comes off all over and is responsible also for the majority of the attention the Smith River receives in May, June, and early July. It is a size 18, is creamy, almost white, with a definite strong orange cast to the thorax--an effective added touch you can add to your fly patterns. This fly is a size 18 and normally comes off afternoons on damp, overcast days and late evening to around dusk on warm, sunny days.Image
