SMITH RIVER 7-22-2006
Guided Trip Smith R., Fieldale, VA, Dr. Matt Weingold , Greensboro,NC, we had an incredible day. The river was a bit stained from the rain on Friday which I knew would benefit us---slightly stained water is a definite advantage on the Smith, we had a day of one hookup after another . We fished the runs with a Y2K /CJ dropper, and caught lots of rainbows . We caught lots of browns too pounding the banks , and some of the fish we caught were 14". Today was probably one of the one or two best days on the river for the whole year, we caught/landed probably 25 fish and had at least half that many more hooked that came off. The partly to mostly cloudy condtions also helped us as well. A great day with a good fisherman, and not bad for a 1/2 day trip!!!!!
