Smith on 7-19-06
Fished the Smith today for about 4 hours. Went in off of 57A. Fish were rising all over the place. Started with Jeff's Pea**** Beetle proceeded to put down almost every fish in the river. Ended up having about a 15' 7X leader before I was albe to entice a hit using a size 20 parachute yellowish dry fly. Ended with a total of 4 to hand. With the biggest a brown with shoulder pads that was only about 12"s but a very deep fighter. I caught him and one other on a beetle and another on a size 12 wooley bugger.
I hope to make this a bi-weekly midweek break. If you go, definetly get some of Jeff's Beetles. I broke another off that probably would have been 14-15"s.
By the way, Jeff caught some good ones too. He'll have to let you know his numbers and stats.
