"Hole in the Wall"

Two versions of the popular Japanese Human Tetris show "Brain Wall" called "Hole in the Wall" will air in the USA on FOX (where taping is going on at CBS Studio City in Hollywood) and in the UK on BBC 1 starting this fall.

The US version will offer a top prize of $100,000 (USA) with regular contestai. Actress Brooke Burns and Los Angeles weatherman Mark Thompson will be the hosts, with the premiere scheduled for September 11th at 8 PM ET/PT. The Uk edition will have Dale Winton hosting, with cricket star Darren Gaugh and Strictly Come Dancing's (which is better known as "Dancing with the Stars" for the American folks) Anton de Beke as team captains and will be a celebrity based show, with 10,000 pounds (UK) for the winning teams' charity each week.

I'll be looking forward to this one. I don't like Dale Winton as host, but I won't let that spoil it for me. It would have been better if it had a younger host or hosts even. emoticon

It's about time Britain has a less serious gameshow. All we get is quiz shows which is good, but we need more 'fun' ones for a change.

C'mon, Dan. how do you really feel?

UPDATE: Two 30-minute sneak previews of the USA version will air Sept. 7 at 8 PM ET/PT (after NFL American football on the US East Coast and Central time zone) and the second Sept. 9 at 9:35 PM following a series premiere.

RTL will broadcast a German version an 18th October. It will be hosted by Sonja Zietlow and Dirk Back, well known as hosts of Germany's I'm a celebrity. Sonja also hosted "Entern oder Kentern".

As far as I know celebrities will play the games.

German title: "Ab durch die Wand" (something like "Go through the wall")

Our one starts on Saturday. I really hope it's not all about "going though Dale's hole", etc. Still think it going to get boring very quickly.

Wikipedia says now that over 20 countries - including the UK, Australia and the USA - have versions of Brain Wall, the original title of the series.

It isn't a series though, just part of a bigger Japanese show, which is why I still can't understand why every country in the world seems to think it's a good idea to have whole half hours of it every week emoticon

Germany will have just one show. If the show rates well, there will be more episodes tough. Thus they needn't cancel the show after some episodes.
