If you were to choose a voice-over...

This hasn't really got anything to do with Viking, but it's all about Japanese shows and this is the section that obviously doesn't get posted in as much, so I've put it here!

If there was ever going to be another Japanese show along the same lines as the others on Challenge (a game show with an English voice-over added here), who would you choose to do the voice-over, and why?

It's actually pretty hard to come up with people! There may be a lot of people you like, but that doesn't mean they'd be suitable.

Rules:
- First and foremost, the person needs to be able to do a good voice-over!
- They would need to suit the style - fun, entertaining, but also follow what's going on.
- Someone who would enjoy the show (or at least pretend to!) along with the viewers.
- Someone who can read a script but also ad-lib.
- No one that'd be out of Challenge's budget!

So, who would you choose to voice-over any new Japanese show?

Right, so the new names I came up with:
I was thinking of cheaper people!

- Keith Chegwin emoticon He did It's a Knockout (just like Stuart) and, from what I remember, did a pretty good job - explaining the game but also laughing along with it. So I thought Keith would be a good choice for the same reason as Stuart.

- Brian Conley. I find him really funny, especially on Paul. He's great at hosting shows (I still think he should be the permanent stand-in for Paul when he has his weeks off) and is quick with jokes/comments, which would make him a great voice-over.

I could suggest Paul here, BUT I don't really think he'd be suited to voicing-over AND he'd be expensive. Just to prove the point I was trying to make earlier that it's not as easy as just choosing people you like emoticon

Lol!
A real person though (Monkeee is in an exclusive contract with us so Challenge or whoever couldn't have him, sorry emoticon).

I forgot:
- Ayaka. She's done well over a thousand radio shows so would be a great voice-over. She laughs loads, which is needed, and is obviously good at ad-libbing after all the years on radio. Plus she's just a really nice person emoticon
Seriously, I could actually imagine Challenge giving her a job (not that it will happen I know). It'd be really easy to record the stuff in Japan and send it over online.

I find Brian Conley irritating, not sure about Keith Chegwin, that guy off Come Dine with Me just spends the whole show taking the emoticon , which I think is just mean. So out of those who have already been suggested, shock horror, Ayaka would be the best! emoticon

What do you mean it's a shock Ayaka wins?!emoticon

Come Dine with Me man is funny! I love his comments. But it's all being sarcastic about what's happening, so I dunno if he's be right for a Japanese show.
Brian Conley rules as well.

rsmcc = weird.

But we knew that already. emoticon

maybe Joe Pasquale? But I don't know if he'd get too irritating. Who knows, he wasn't too bad on 'The Price is Right'.

Unfortunatelly I do not know many people from the UK which could do the voice-over. Maybe Craig Charles again, but then somebody has to tell him the rules emoticon

That is a good idea. I have seen It's a Knockout, it was broadcasted on DSF, and I liked him on that show. Could be a good choice.
