Wipeout Australia

Heck, it deserves it's own thread.

Another new obstacle today (I think) - the balance beams in the qualifier. Basically two beams to walk across, while sprayed with water.

Also on the Sweeper we have the Flyscreen - basically the Crusher with foam bars hanging down, though the upper bar was quite high so it wasn't really a case of squeezing through them.

Dizzy Dummy not too exciting - just the Tippy Tables and Doughnuts, though checking the facts here actually the first time the Tippy Tables had been used in Aus - and the Doughnuts is the first obstacle they've repeated.

According to TV Tonight episode 8 is back in the schedules for next week (they had reported it would be replaced by a "biggest hits" clip-show) Is episode 8 the last?

Sounds good emoticon
I've downloaded it but haven't had the chance to watch yet. Hopefully I'll be able to watch tomorrow morning.

Definitely a shame that it probably won't be back for another series. Deserves a lot better ratings than it's getting.

As far as I know there was only ever going to be 8 episodes. I guess we'll find out next week emoticon

Got to watch it this morning.

Hooray for another new obstacle! Even though it was only a couple of floating beams, and stolen straight from Dizzy Dummy a fortnight ago, it was still good as it was new.
Even though we've seen the Wall Swing so many times on Washout I didn't mind watching it on here again. I didn't even mind the Tippy Tables in DD either emoticon

Nice to have something a bit different on the Sweeper again too. Although I'm sure it hardly got higher, if at all?

I hope, if it is a regular episode next week, we get the Dreadmill one more time. It'd have to be the Wrecking Ball if it was too, surely!?

You'd think so - that would be the first on my wish list if I was remaking the series.

I'd say this week's was the best episode of them all. A shame that it was the last one then emoticon

I laughed at a lot of their jokes, more than normal. And most of the drawings they do are really funny. Not in a simplistic way like in America, but sometimes they really go for it - coloured 'pens' and all emoticon

"Captain Cook discovered Australia, Hawaii, and then went home for a nice peaceful life."
"No, actually he got clubbed to death in Hawaii".
"Oh. He's buggered then."
(It was something like that) made me actually laugh out loud. emoticon

I think this Wrecking Ball Dreadmill was actually better than the original version as they could get whacked by it more than once. It had some good hits.

Definitely one of the best Dreadmills this week.

Strange they didn't mention it was the last episode, but it's out of the schedules now over the non-ratings period and apart from an expected clip show there's been no word of them filming any extra episodes.

Re: Wipeout Australia

Well originally it was scheduled for last Tuesday, but they changed it back to being a regular episode.

Australia are now in a non-ratings period and Wipeout isn't in the slot for two weeks at least, so it might follow in a couple of weeks. No word yet either on if they're screening the new US series or making another one of their own - opinion seems to be they won't be.

A bit of a side note but New Zealand will be screening the UK, US and Aussie versions of the show. The US and Aussie ones I understand, but why on earth they'd want the UK one is beyond me.

The UK version is going to look its absolute worst being on the same channel as the US and Aus version!!

Look forward to this clip show, whenever it'll be then, as it's likely to be the last Australian episode emoticon

?!?!?!!

They want the british, american and austrailian versions of the show!!! emoticon

Seriously, it's going to be the same obstacles over and over again.

Haven't they shown the australian Wipeout yet? You would think they would have done.
