Total Wipeout... France
Now, question of the day: If you were making a version of Wipeout in a new country (other then the UK with the lame "Oh there was another show called Wipeout" excuse"), why would you call it TOTAL Wipeout?
"OH, I know. Let's name our version after the UK one - the worst in the world", was probably how the meeting went. Only in French.
Now we all know Washout. That a look at this:

Okay, 0:00 - 0:08 seconds = Washout (well, apart form the Doughnut Run, obviously ). Even the overhead shots right at the start look like they've been cut directly from an episode of Washout - pointless orangey filters and all.
But then! HANG ON. The CRUSHER!? AND look at the logo.
So, what have we leant? That a version, also called Total Wipeout, filmed on exactly the same water-slide-start-ramp course, already uses two obstacles in the advert that the BBC didn't use in a whole series.
And then there's the logo, in the right style. So, now there's NO excuse at all for Washout not to use this logo. The banners round the course have been made with it on.
Something else I noticed. Check 0:10 here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulZgth2tr6U NEW style balls, with the straight bit at the bottom.

Re: Total Wipeout... France
That circular pool looks like the Sweeper to me. There are the 12 podiums around it. They must have moved it.
Looks like Washout will be getting the Doughnut Run for 3 weeks (at least) and the Crusher, for 12 weeks, then.
They've updated the Balls, but there's no Motivator. I suppose they only changed the Balls for safety though.
I really hope they're updated the good course with all the new stuff. Do we know any country that's making a second series and uses that course?
I can't believe they're going down the serious route too. Maybe they worked on it with the UK 'team'. Filming at the same time, using the same obstacles to, to save even more money; hence using the same name.

24 contestants, $10,000 Euros. What was the prize in Germany? And they've got two hosts, so looking much more promising on that front anyway
10.000 Euros as well (plus 1.000 Euros for the last man standing on the Sweeper).
I don't think that the sweeper moved, compare this two pictures:

I guess there are two different pools, because Germany definitely used a different place (you should watch the video and then you clearly sea the difference, e.g. the grass area is similar to a circle, obastacles and buildings in the background)

Doesn't seem too bad.

Re: Total Wipeout... France
But the question is now: why did they use two different courses which are basically the same.

Dan told us this before. It's so two different contrys can film at the same time.
