Making Old Obstacles Interesting Again
I love the Hurtles, the Slippery Swingset, and the Sweeper. Even the Sucker Punch holds a place in my heart. (Fender Bender is eh, but I approve more than I disapprove.)
But...we must answer the age-old question: how would we, the Wipeout Heads, keep the obstacles from getting old? Just would it be possible to keep them fresh?
Here are my suggestions:
Slippery Swingset:
Ball Swingset (filled with balls)
Bumper Swingset (has bumpers in strategic locations)
Tar and Feather Swingset (first swing is filled with "tar," the second is filled with feathers)
PB+J Swingset (first swing is filled with peanut butter, the second, jelly)
Muddy Swingset (needs no explanation)
Flooded Swingset (filled with water)
Hurtles:
Star Hurtles (star-shaped hoops)
Super Hurtles (varies between regular, hoops, and trampolines)
Hydro Hurtles (water pours on them from above)
Sweeper:
Water Balloon Sweeper
Blue Ball Crusher
Exercise Ball Sweeper (you get one exercise ball, throw it wisely!)
Speed Demon (randomly goes fast and slow)
Gyro Speed Demon
Crushing Speed Demon
Gyro-Crushing Speed Demon
Hoop And Sacks
Spikes Of Doom - no, really, they're actually spike-shaped.
Sucker Punch:
All I can think of is putting a trampoline over it - even the rocks. Every obstacle is better with a trampoline or a sweeper arm!

Re: Making Old Obstacles Interesting Again
The producers already had a good idea: giving the obstacles a special theme, e.g. the Ice Age 3 Swing Set. That's an easy to make them interesting without actually changing something. But of course, you shouldn't do that too often.

Re: Making Old Obstacles Interesting Again
I miss some of the older obstacles that gave us much better wipeouts. I realise obstacles like topple towers have been overused in other countries but I'd like some giant topple towers that ascend and descend between 6 and 4 blocks.
King of the Mountain
They should get rid of the balls on the end, make it 2 sweeper arms that are low to the platform. That way they can't duck under and have to balance and actually jump the sweeper arms. Will get better wipeouts.
Then vary it with different attachments to the arms:
Spikes of Doom! (toothbrush)
Water Sprayers
Vertical Bumpers
or something like having padded doors on the center platform that each person needs to unlock with their key and climb in. Only one person through each door and if they fall off before getting in, the door closes and relocks.
Tumble Tubes
Have a tumble tube combo with one downhill rolling tube and a rope to grab at the end that will then zip them to the other side of the pool through some sweeper trees. :O
Epic wipeouts ahoy.
Things like that, bring back some old obstacles and mix them with the new. Nostalgia with new capabilities to wipeout on.
Oh and obstacles like plank in the face just need to come back exactly how they are.

Re: Making Old Obstacles Interesting Again
I thought of combining the Launch Pads with the turntables called the Lanch Pad Turntables. And to make it like the original Launch Pads, an extra turntable is added with the 1st and the 3rd turntable low and the 2nd and the 4th turntable high and the finish podium is moved forward a bit to make room for the 4th turnatble.

Yeah, that'd be good! People would probably end up springing off in all directions

Breakaway Launch Pads. They flip down at a certain point, so you have to jump to the next one quick. Otherwise you might bounce up, the trampoline will drop down under you, and you'll fall back down and straight into the water.
