Four preview clips at TV.com:
http://www.tv.com/video/26053/Episode+201+-+Clip+3?o=tv

This was the first episode to be filmed this season, but the last of the old-new course to be shown. Turns out the Wipeout Bowl was one of the eight filmed on the course - it's now been given production number 206.

This features the "Tipsy Towers" - the first obstacle with all the podiums - or is that podia, and the "Brush Rush" with blue balls.

And from the Twitter page they're auditioning this weekend for "Singles, Couples and Military". I guess all these are for next season.

Tipsy Towers look like a Wipeout-Version of Skipping Stones from Takeshi's Castle. I'm sure they will provide good wipeouts.

And I don't know if we need a military special - I can't imagine that the military will provide anything special.

It must either be a really bad episode, or a really good one for them to have saved it for this long.
... Then it'll probably turn out to be just an okay episode emoticon Just seems strange that
they've saved the first one all this time.

This must be for the next series then, now, not just a few specials. We know they start filming around October-November.

Why do American shows seem to always have military episodes?

I already like the tipsy towers. Washout should easily be able to copy those.

Nah they look like effort to set up. Washout will go for "dodgeball" again.

It shouldn't be that difficult to set them up. Especially because they can use them for half of the series. But somebody has to build them emoticon

This episode seemed like one from Series 1.5.
Well, maybe Series 1.75 then. Not series 2 anyway!

I can't understand why they left it so late to show this episode. Even the stuff with the Johns must have been filmed before any other episode, as they were talking about their "time off", over-explaining King of the Mountain, and just getting excited over things we've seen lots before.

Brush Rush is to the Brusher as Wipeout is to Washout. Far bigger, better and with lots of extra bits.

Dizzy Dummy was very 2.0: Slippery Snakes 2.0 and Block Maze 2.0 (all be it called the Topple Towers, strangely). They would have fitted into series 1 as they were pretty simple, compared to a lot of the things we've had this series.

*Weeeeeee*.... *Drop*. Oh.

Anyway, at least there were still lots of laughs. JH being jealous all the way through of JA because of the woman with the crush, and the Ninjetta stuff.

The Tipsy Towers are actually the Buoy Runs from season 1, but with our deeper tank we were able to make them 8’ tall.

See, I told you! The tall Buoy things. emoticon

And apparently:

Completely agree Duffdan - it was to this season what the pilot episode was to last season, and the John's didn't seem too keen to be there either. Also note the different music used as well.

Overall a pretty forgettable episode - Tipsy Towers OK, but not one of the better new obstacles. Brush Rush was good and for once it looked like the Fender Bender had a twist, but as the twist was it didn't have the uphill incline (instead it went downhill then flat) it wasn't mentioned as the twist was there was no twist.

King of the Mountain - no donuts, but I was thinking that might go down as my favourite Wipeout obstacle this season. Wasn't sure at first, but it's one I like more and more each time I see it, rather than getting bored of it.

Dizzy Dummy - exactly as DuffDan said - no expense here, not even on new names. I'd have called the Topple Towers the Block Beams myself, while the Slippery Snakes were more effective static as they were in season one.

And finally the Wipeout Zone - for some reason it just felt a lot cheaper tonight. I guess it was in it's purest form with no extras, but didn't feel quite right.

On the whole not a great episode, so no surprise they didn't show it first, but I'd have thought they'd hide it in the middle somewhere rather than playing it out as what I think it the last of the old-new course episodes.
