A preview from Twitter, with the promise of more motivations than ever:

They've said they'll be a new twist to the Big Balls next year, so I wonder if this is the motivators swansong?

That video proves it again: just little variations like a theme can make an obstacle look better and newer than it actually is.

I'm looking forward to watching the finale. That preview clip is proabably the best preview so far, so that episode should be a good one.

Ok I liked the finale but a few things.

DONUT HURTLES :@ were so overplayed.
As were the big balls. Which are like a brand new OMG obstacle...no.
So despite bananas being new kind of with foam and cherrys, they were shown like 3 times.
Onion ring swing was awesome, nice to have a real swing back.
Motivator - I love it. emoticon

Cheese Sweeper - EPIC (i like cheese)

Slippery Course - Funny falls.

Wipeout zone - Water Cannons, Glitter, Wind. They went all out.

Jon's - HIGHlarious as always.

Episode 8/10. Would get a 9 if it wasnt just Donuts and Big Balls for the qualifier.

One of the best episodes, definitely.
The Motivation stuff was really funny. Plus the old Wipeys music was back for it. Ah, just like the old days... Of last year.

I don't mind the Hurtles as I've said, so they didn't bother me being on so much. It was strange they didn't show the Bananas much, but I guess everyone probably just fell off the first one as they're hard to do.

Best Swing ever! It was like two obstacles in one. The Onion Ring Swing could have been an obstacle on its own last year.

The Cheese Sweeper looked so naff emoticon A little bit of cheese stuck on top of the arm! YET, it turned out great!

The Bucking thingys in the Slippery Course must have been to bring the Bull/Rocket into it for the final episode. Well, maybe not, but I like to think it was! Mini Sweepers on the Wall were good too, except they broke with everyone hanging on them.
Nice that they used the different things from over the series to slide down the Slick Slide on each round.

Zone was just the Teeth one again, but with the ones taken off the bridge on the Scary-Go-Round. Blades were back! Made a good little final change again. Liked the sparkly explosions on the Catapult emoticon

I wanted/expected them to do something funny to finish. But nothing emoticon
OH TOPAZ. That's it for this year emoticon

Pretty much agree with everything said above - a great episode to finish on, and unbelievable really these are the same two Johns who seemed so bored two weeks ago.

Qualifier was nicely done - little things like renaming the Sucker Punch the Pudding Punch make the difference too. And great Motivations - it'll be a shame if that doesn't return next year, but I suspect it was farewell.

Sweeper - looks so naff it's the sort of thing we'd see on Total Wipeout if they put any effort in themselves. I guess the budget had run out by this point then!

Nest Slippery Course yet IMO, though why they didn't call the Sweeper Wall the Sweeper Wall I don't know.

And great effects in the Wipeout Zone too - a little disappointing it was teeth again - didn't mind on the Gears of Doom but make the drop bridge far too easy. And as it's our last chance to moan about it, notice the first couple of contestants who took the immediate penalty got to the Scary Go Round around the 5 minute mark, while the third, who has a second attempt then took the penalty, didn't get there till the 7 min 30 sec mark.

Overall though a great series. Of course as is to be expected with 16 episodes some were better than others, but on the whole nothing we really could be complaining about - even though of course each week we always found something to criticise! emoticon

They can't take the motivator away from us, I got to love it, especially after that episode. The real motivator was way better than the human motivator from the Wipeout Ball, so please keep it.

That's really the biggest point they have to work on. But I guess we won't get a better penalty system or even get rid of it.

Maybe next year we'll get the Motivator AND something new! That'd be good. People will still need Motivating if they're not jumping on to the Balls.

I wonder if there'll be a special extra episode or two popup some time this year? You never know, as they did cast for a just a small group of episodes at one point, didn't they?

There was a casting call for 5 episodes. Wondering though if next summers run has been extended, as the twitter page says it'll have more episodes than ever.

To be honest, as much as we love it I'm not sure that's a good thing. I think 15/16 was a stretch really. Perhaps at most there should be 18, filmed in effectively three blocks (but with no more than 2 Wipeout Zones).

I agree, I don't think it's a good idea to have an even longer series. 16 episodes is a LOT, even though it went pretty quick. I thought they said they weren't going to do big series' so people wouldn't get bored of it. Looks like they've changed their minds then.

I think they're missing somethigng by not having any specials though. Especially at Christmas.

If they did a full 22-episode run it would be better off in-season, so you get 10 in the autumn, 6 from January and then the final 6 in the Spring.

If they did any specials I guess they could do Thanksgiving, Holidays, Wipeout Bowl II and perhaps Valentines Day Couples.
