Re: Re-watching Series 3
Maybe they stored more boulders at the top, so they played it while getting the previous boulders up to the top. It seems like they never run out!
Knock Knock would take agaes to reset. I'm suprised they did that throughout all the seasons.

Actually the set for Nut roll was mysteriously the victim of arson.
Probably the guy who had to carry the nuts up to the top Did the yellow fort burn down as well?

Knock Knock doesn't take that long. They just need to repair up to 4 doors, maybe even no door. (In case they don't change the right doors). Although it seemed like they didn't want to repair all doors of starting game version of Knock Knock. When they played it first, it looked like nearly every wall had ten doors, but later it was just like five doors a wall.
Yellow Brick Road was also played just on one episode. In the DSF version we were told that that game was a prototype and they thought about building the game over water, if YBR passes the test run. But I'm not sure if this story was true.

Re: Re-watching Series 3
Arson?
How did anyone get in there? And why would they set that game alight, out of everything?
Unless it was the yellow fort that burnt down, was it? That'd make sense I guess, as that disappeared, didn't it? I suppose that's the reason why they didn't use the hill for anything else afterwards, in case it happened again.
I suppose in Avalanche they had enough boulders for about 3 contestants' runs, then they just brought them back up to the top in that cart you see on the track to the right. They'd only have to take them back up two or three times I guess.
Yeah, Knock Knock would be another that'd take a while to film, because of resetting all the doors. Also Dominoes. How long would it take to get them all standing back up without accidentally knocking them all down again!?

Re: Re-watching Series 3
Here goes:
* This series is laregely unmemorable, yes. In most episodes I only recorded the Show Down onto DVD. Although most of the dull episodes are for me livened up by Sumo Rings alone.
* Ep. 18 has my most irritating censor. It was alliterative, and is a word everyone uses to mean quick - nippy. But just because the word was followed by the word nutters, the censor thought Craig was being racist. I still think different people did every show, because there was "Happy Clappy ... Chappies" once, but never again.
* Highlights include the fastest Show Down ever! In Ep. 8, I think, maybe Dan could check that. And the longest, in Ep. 2, where they went in one at a time, and still Craig loses count! AND because he says there's one left (when there's really two), the audio description says one as well!
* In one episode someone can be seen pushing the boulders up the hill in Avalanche, in a wide angle shot. So that answers that then.
* I'd have preferred to see as many eliminated at the first door in Knock Knock as possible, so I wouldn't have had to do much work! Lazy, or what? They're also the funniest eliminations, too. 100mph... BANG! Out already!
* Didn't notice the missed replay bars. Must have been because of the boredom factor. (See Point 1)
* And Final Fall. I thought it was only one contestant making it through that game, with others eliminated so that's why Challenge showed it that time, to fill up a gap in the timeslot. Didn't consider that it might be the other possibility that only that guy played it. Hmm...

Re: Re-watching Series 3
Well, it's over now!
Even thinking about the dreaded episode 18 makes me angry The censoring is what makes this the worst series for me.
Loads in Mushroom Trip, even in ep 29 today. Some in Slipped Disks, even the Show Down. The one in Blueberry Hill with the "coming up behind" or whatever it was. ***** Nutters, Happy Clappy ****** Chappies, What a way to spend your d***********, Nice Effort *************** Nice Exit, something in a replay of Sumo, something about getting wet in Slip Way. There's obviously more, and it doesn't look like they've ever be un-censored.
At least the Best Ofs are un-touched, and some of cut things are in there.
Well, I shouldn't say that. When they again arrive next year they'll probably have been butchered.
Not sure which was the short Show Down, but I'll check. I think the one where they played one-on-one was one of the best Show Downs ever.

Re: Re-watching Series 3
Craig's out-of-hand comments, usually. Mostly unnecessary innuendo. Bit rich, him saying "family show" when he's the one making it unsuitable! But it's the inconsistency of the edits that really grate.

Re: Re-watching Series 3
Some edits are definitely ridiculous. Most recently on High Rollers in ep 3 of Series 4. See my post in the Series 4 topic
I'm sure they just got bored and though "Hmm, what can we do?... CUT BITS OF SOUND OFF TAKESHI'S CASTLE!". Makes about as much sense as some of their edits.
