Series 5 (Idea, not real!)
Right, so we know Takeshi is still popular and we'd all love to see new episodes. AND, we all know that there are some games that were cut out of Challenge episodes.
Well, we could have loads of episodes full of Slipped Disks, Final Fall, with added Karaoke and Quake... But obviously no one would watch that. SO, they could easily make a new mini series, because there is still demand. That way there aren't many episodes so it wouldn't be as expensive as a full series, but everyone would be happy because there are new episodes!
I've worked out that 7 episodes are easily possible. Ep 1 is a special looking back, re-uniting Tani and Takeshi. Eps 2 - 5 are "Unseen" specials. These are in the same style as the Best Ofs, ending with the Flashback and no Show Down. Eps 6 and 7 are the 100 Best Moments ever.
Series 5
Episode 1:
(The Peace Agreement ep)
Craig narrates a story, like in the specials. Something like: The last we saw of the General, he had died. However, due to thunder striking his stick he was miraculously brought back to life. But, he decided not to waste anymore of his newly re-gained life on failing to storm Takeshi's Castle (all this has flashback clips from the last special).
After all these years, Takeshi and the General have decided to meet up, and to put the past behind them.
Something like that anyway, then this Peace Agreement show contains the highlights from:
Skipping Stones
Blueberry Hill
High Rollers
Roller Derby
Wipe Out
Ending with the big fight, and Tani vows to get his revenge again. Cliffhanger, will he ever?...
Episode 2:
Animuddle
Slipped Disks
Roller Derby
Skittles
Rope
Quake
Karaoke
Space Invaders
Episode 3:
Match Maker
Slipped Disks
Show of Hands
Grid Iron
Wipe Out
Quake
Karaoke
Space Invaders
Episode 4: (Family & International)
Fortress (Fam)
Slipped Disks (Fam)
Honeycomb Maze (Fam)
Ball Cupping (Int)
Uphill Garden (Int)
Quake (Fam)
Final Fall (Fam)
Episode 5: (Specials)
Slipped Disks (Guard)
Samurai Back
Midoriyama Marathon
Quake (Monster)
Bridge Ball (Taiwan)
Shoot 'N' Loot
Episode 6: (100 Best Moments)
Clips 1 - 50
Episode 7: (100 Best Moments)
Clips 51 - 100
I've put the Slipped Disks, Quakes and Karaokes in in case the episode wouldn't be long enough, but one or two might not be needed, depending on how long the other games last.
So yeah, I can't see/don't think there's any reason why that wouldn't work?

Re: Series 5 (Idea, not real!)
Episode 1 would work perfectly and Challenge should do it defintely that why if they resurrect Takeshi for a few episodes. It would also be a good way to introduce the "lost games" and give people what they also wanted to see.
Episode 4 and 5 could be a bit too confusing, because you mixed specials, that are quite different from other episodes, e.g. episode 4. How do you explain, why the families don't compete in two games, but people from around the world? It could work for episode 5, there you can make up a story like there is peace between the count and Tani again and they celebrate it with a special episode, in which well-known people compete in special games in order to win the right to place Shoot 'n' Loot.
And the 100 best Moments are good, too. There could also be a vote with the best bits from the show and you vote for the 100 best moments.

Re: Series 5 (Idea, not real!)
Episodes 2 - 5 would be exactly like the Best Ofs. Craig can just say at the start that these are "never before seen games", and not a proper episode. In Best Of he says "Usually General Lee starts off with 100 contestants, etc etc... But that's only usually. This is a Best Of, where we show the best bits", so there just needs to be something like that.
There was a Series 1 Specials Best Of, which had Family and International specials in, so they've actually done that before.
The 100 Best Moments was an episode in Japan (the one where they sit in that orange-y studio and Higashi hosts). But viewers voting their favourite bits could be ANOTHER episode to add on!

I see. I actually thought that should have been "full" episodes. They should do that for the 9th November. 7 years of Takeshi's Castle - 7 new episodes with never seen before footage. Would be really great

D'OH! I wish we'd thought of that sooner, that WOULD have been great! There's no way they'd be able to do in within a couple of weeks now - obviously.
We'll just have to think up one more episode, so we can have 8 new episodes for 8 years of Takeshi
I can't see Challenge making new episodes though, just because they're so stubborn over it. They will never admit that they cut out more than just "talking". Even though in the Specials they proved there was more than just games in the show.
I know exactly which episodes the games I listed came from, so I could make a whole list for them. Then no effort in finding the clips would be needed at all.

Re: Series 5 (Idea, not real!)
Why don't we just pay Craig Charles and do it ourself?

Re: Series 5 (Idea, not real!)
Exactly.
...Unless someone could convince him to do it for free, and get hold of the original footage. THEN I reckon we'd be in with a chance.
I wonder if Craig has ever searched for any Takeshi sites? Probably doesn't even know we exist!
I did send him our old keyring years ago (with the old Geocities address on), and it know it got there as I got a signed photo (YEARS later ), but I didn't get any sort of reply. Mind you, I'd hate to think what I'd written. I was quite young and all Takeshi'ed-up.
Wonder if we should try and contact him again? But then I don't know what we'd say to him...

I think we should give it a try. We have nothing to lose, right? If the worst comes to the worst he says "no". At least we tried
Just write to him, explain who we are and that we want him to voice over seven more episodes to celebrate seven years of Takeshi's Castle in the UK. If he is a real Takeshi fan, he can't say no

Re: Series 5 (Idea, not real!)
I think I know what the answer would be... Either that or, more likely, there'd be no reply
There must be a better was to contact him, rather than through Coronation Street.
