Site Info
As you can probably tell, the site (and especially the forum) isn't as popular as it used to be.
Nothing new has happened recently with Takeshi, which is the reason most visitors come to the site, Haromoni and Viking so the drop-off of hits is expected.
I know I've not updated the sites much in a while either, but that is because there's nothing happening to update with!
I was going though a "OMGZ THERE'S NO POINT I HAVIGN THE SITE ANYMOREZ COS NOT HAPPENS AND PEPLE OF BORED OF IT SO I MIGHT AS WELL CLOSE IT" phase, but don't worry, I'm not that stupid.
There's no way I'll close the site, especially as I've kept it going for five years already.
So, what's going to happen?:
- I've closed the Super Komp for now because the forum is so dead. I was going to get rid of all competitions, but we still have our (three or so) regular members, so I'm keeping the YaguchiHitori ones going while they still get entries.
If we get more members in the future I'll open the Super Komp again.
- There's another site on it's way. I been debating whether to do it for months, but Tom has finally talked me into it. So watch out for that very soon. Fingers crossed it'll be something that'll get the site hits up again.
- I'll be doing a competition/giveaway where you can actually win a real prize to celebrate our fifth birthday.
Not sure what yet, but it'll be something from Cafepres (with new graphics, not just the old old Takeshi site picture). So if you have any ideas please post them!
That'll be out of my own actual real money too. That hopefully might get us some more forum members.
If it works then I'll think about doing a more regular thing where you can use forum scoreboard points to 'buy' real stuff. Obviously that'll be down to my money, and it'll just be occasionally and just cheap stuff.
- Some things might be happening this year which would mean a big update on the site. I don't know whether these things, some of them, all, or none, will happen still. We won't know for a few months still...
So, fingers crossed for the site's future and that we'll get back to as popular as we used to be!
And a BIG thanks to those of you who still post on the forums

But yeah, the site has jumped the shark, probaly before Ninja Warrier even started!
... How? It had been increasing in popularity weekly from the day it started until about October-ish last year.
If something's "jumped the shark" it's done something completely over the top or unbelievable in order to keep it going or get viewers. I haven't.
Yet.

Re: Site Info
Looking forward to seeing the new website. Will it be a Japanes (game-)show related site as well?
A revival of Takeshi's Castle would help to get new members.. when came back to Germany some German people joined the forum (just like me )

Re: Site Info
I don't know if most people here will particularly like/want to look around the new site. And no, it's nothing to do with Morning Musume It's not Japanese actually, but it's related. Can probably guess.
It's not very exciting, but it will hopefully get in more visitors who have never been here before.
If the 'stuff' (that I may or may not know about) does happen this year, then yep, it should get viewers in. One thing I think is definitely confirmed for April... But that thing won't get in new viewers as it's nothing much, but still nice to have something, anything, new!
If Haromoni does return (pleeeeeease!!!) then that should get the hits up again a bit too.

Re: Site Info
Has Keshi Heads jumped the shark? As I said, no, it hasn't. Look up the meaning.
"Jump the shark
Meaning:
To reach the point in a TV series that denotes it is irretrievably past its best by introducing some ridiculous or otherwise unbelievable plot device or characterisation in order to boost ratings."
This isn't a TV series, but still:
1) As I said, the site constantly went up in views until the end of last year. Last year was overall our most popular year ever, so you can't say it was 'past it's best' and I was trying to 'boost ratings' in 2006
2) In this analogy that'd mean the other sites are the 'plots'. But Haromoni, Ayaka, Ninja, Viking and Banzuke aren't "ridiculous or unbelievable". How can they be? The analogy doesn't work.
Haromoni was added because I loved it and thought everyone else would too. I was wrong, but so what, I kept it updated just becuase I wanted to. So you can't say I kept updating that to get more views as no one here liked it.
Actually in the end, last year, it was actually geting a lot of views. But that was 2 years after it launched so that's by the by.
Ninja came to Challenge and was related to Takeshi which is why I added it. Viking is basically Ninja, so that's why that went up at the same time. Same as Banzuke.
As it is, since the Sasuke site went up it's been getting more views than the Takeshi site.
So, all in all, you should look up what a saying means before using it

Re: Site Info
Yes, that phrase has rather gotten lost in translation in recent years. I think it's being increasingly used to describe a decline in quality rather than pure outrageousness intended to avoid same. That means a decline in quality here just because there's no more TC. Which is rubbish. As I said, Ninja and Banzuke have taken care of that.
Anyway, enough arguing children!
