So a completely useless degree?
My sister got a degree in Sociology... she went back and got something else too (physical therapy?) so she could get a job that pays money.
The others end up being teaching jobs.

I like teaching. And they're not worthless degrees. They're important if you want to go into something like Law or Buisness.
Plus, I'd rather learn something I enjoy than learning something I don't just for a paycheck.

I went to Algonquin College here in Ottawa (I'm the only Canadian here aren't I?). I applied for the animation course, was rejected, then took a course called General Arts and Science to improve my skills. Tried for animation the next year, and was rejected again.
The next year I took a carpentry course, and flunked out of it. I'm an artist, I need my hands !
So yeah.. College helped me improve certain skills, but I wasn't good enough to get into Animation. It worked out in the end, I decided I didn't want that, cause all I'd be doing in the beginning was drawing the same things over and over, and there's a good chance animators end up simply drawing backgrounds. Plus.. 2-3 years after a buddy of mine from college who actually got into the animation course asked me if I had any job leads. He graduated, and there were no animation jobs available.
Now I just want to write, and I don't need college for that. High school diploma+Bilingual+2 years in college = Working temp night shifts at Walmart. Yay for me !
