THE WEDDING! (Joe's version)
Ok, here's my account of the wedding day. Dot will have to write her own. ^_^
Sorry it was late, but we've been busy with tons of things. @_@
Oddly enough, I wasn't that nervous... although I did end up scratching my eye pretty bad that morning and I couldn't see. ;_; I tried to wash it out but Dot was in the bathroom and you can't see the bride before the wedding. When she went back to her room, I got ready, packed up my stuff, and headed out, eye blinking.
I got to my brother's hotel room and we chatted a bit before my nephew showed up and it was time to get ready. A little scramble because I forgot to pack a white T-shirt and my eye was still bugging me but all was going good... till one of the bridesmaids called and said they had to make an emergency trip to the bridal shop for repairs. They all eventually showed up at the hotel (Speedy fix!) and we took the limo to the Church, all of us except Dot (who went earlier). Oh, the limo was a black 8 seater instead of the white 10 seater we wanted. *shrug*
So, we got to the church and were stuffed in a little room in the back getting our flowers on (buttoneer? how do you spell that?) A little pacing back and forth, but I was still ok. No bathroom trips or throwing up, just a little dry mouth.
I walked out and took my place, watching as the bridesmaids came out (to the Final Fantasy Prelude theme). Then I saw her. First, just a white poofy dome behind my friend's heads, but then the wedding march hit and I saw my bride-to-be... and almost cried... if it wasn't for the fact my eye was SO friggin sore I may have.
She came out all beautiful and smiling. Her dad lifted her veil (why did that seem to take forever?) and I took her up to the altar.
I won't go into a lot of the ceremony specifics... a lot I can't remember, I was dazed. But there was lots of kneeling and standing. The priest was great, making jokes in his strong Italian accent and having fun. We said our vows and exchanged rings. Neither of us fainted or stumbled. It went perfect.
...well... at one quiet point Dot's stomach went 'Guuurrrrrrrrrgle', letting me know she was quite hungry. We had a very hard time keeping from laughing.
The mass continued and we headed out of the church for photos (even though I didn't realize I had caught Dot's veil in my arm and pulled her head a lil.
Photos went pretty smooth, except some of our friends had to bolt in the middle to get back to Metrocon and got in the way of the Photographer, and this one psycho girl got in the way with her camera phone. More on her later.
Then off to the limo with Psychogirl getting in the way again. We sped off back to the hotel to chill for a couple of hours before the reception. (See next post)

The bridal party chilled in my brother's hotel room for an hour or so and chit-chatted. The wedding went to 2:30, photos and such to 3, but the reception was at 5.
Our room was ready, so we headed to that to let my brother have his room back. More chillin and such until 5pm when we headed up to the 7th floor.
THey had lots of food out and we were STARVED! all I had all morning was a banana, and Dot had an Eggo. So we kinda waved to people and grabbed food. Mmmm... food... good food... yum yum yum. Quesadillias, meat-on-a-stick thingies, cheeses, shrimp-on-a-cracker... Yum yum yum!
After making a few rounds, we lined up to be announced... to the Star Wars Imperial March. We came out and everyone cheered. But dinner was not to come yet... we had to have our first dance. We picked the song from Final Fantasy 9 "Melodies of Life." everyone thought it was a sweet song. It's like 7.5 mins long, so we cut it after a couple of verses.
The rest of the night was a confusion of dancing and food. Dot danced with her dad to the Merenge (sp?). I danced with my mom to the Star Trek Enterprise theme. We danced to Happy Happy Joy Joy and others. They played some anime songs we picked out, and a mix of other things.
Food was buffet style. Chicken with cheese, roast beef, potatoes, crab cakes, corn, other goodies. Yummy! I ate, Dot's dress was kinda tight and she couldn't eat much.
Dot wanted some of the chicken fingers the kids got, so I got some for her from my little neice and nephew. (They're 3, they didn't need 4 each!) We left them for Dot, but before she could eat them, Weiling's little girl Ellisa snuck into Dot's chair and ate them! Little sneak!
The groomsmen and bridesmaids got quite a few drinks in them and were kinda drunk by the time we took pictures on the beach. Dot yelled at them (I'll let her tell that story).
The only real BAD thing at the reception was the psycho girl. She was just friggin INSANE. Hitting on everyone, getting drunk when she was only 18, CONSTANTLY trying to butt in and talk to us about... well... nothing. Eventually we had my best man and one of the bridesmaids play block to keep her away. Well.. on of my groomsmen did better than that at one point... my nephew ended up kissing her downstairs... right in front of his girlfriend. DOH! Dumbass! The psycho STILL claims he has her cell phone.
Everything went well and we ended up retiring to our room about 10pm. Dot's stomach alerted us that we didn't get much to eat at about midnight, so we ordered pizza and they ended up giving us a few bucks off and free cinnasticks since it was our wedding night.
It's all still a blur and this is probably boring, so I'll leave it at that.
Needless to say, we're married, we had fun, and we're headed off to part two of our honeymoon thursday morning.

Yeah, congrats! Wish I could go to AX and see you, and maybe meet Dot, but that's not in the cards. (You are going to AX, right? I hope so, because otherwise I just embarrased myself.  )
Anyway, have a great honeymoon, and I'll be waiting for your return here.

We're at AX right now (con report to happen later). If anyone's at or coming to AX this weekend, let us know when/where to meet up with you!
We'll have a con report up eventually but I'm uploading some pics to the cosplaylab (www.cosplaylab.com) and they'll post them eventually. 200 pics just today.
It's taking forever to upload, so sleep calls soon, more updates later.

Yeah!! AX!! I was trying to find you guys - I looked for the white dijiko hat.. but alas, to no avail.
I will be attending tomorrow - umm.. if you guys are outside I'll be under that big ass AX banner at the convention center around 1pm. Hopefully I'll get to meet you.

The wedding was lovely. Reception was just the right size: a big party but not gigantic and unwieldy. Ellissa denies eating the chicken fingers. She doesn't normally just plonk down and eat someone else's food unless she wants a whuppin', but maybe the thin air on the 7th floor made her wacky. I dunno. ^^;
Joe, the photos are great so far. Friday's and Saturday's are sorted and posted; links are on the homepage. I hope you guys are having a good time and are able to do the stuff that you want to do besides the interviews. Any good freebies in the dealers' room this year?

Ugh. Tired. We'll have both official (Cosplaylab) and unofficial (here) reports soon. Tired now.
Some things went great with the AX trip, but others just didn't work out right. We weren't able to get good pictures in ANY panel because of lighting. Our camera lost power just before the main cosplay started and our backup battery never charged. Our private interview got cancelled (well, delayed till after the con) and we weren't able to make it to the others due to scheduling conflicts (like having it at 8am when we were out till 2am, or having them at the same time as major cosplay events/meetings).
We did get a TON of cool pictures of cosplayers outside though... I guess our little Kodak is better designed for that. We've got more pictures to send today, once we get everything unpacked and such.
Ugh, still sleepy.
