PSP

Mara-chan and Bunny have had PSP's since Christmas in Japan... but here in Real Life I got one on launch day.

Yes, I know what the comic said... I eventually whined enough that Dottie said "Just got get it" to shut me up. ^_-

The machine is SWEET.

It's sleek and glossy. The games look INCREDIBLE on it. Movies (Spiderman 2 anyway) look better than on my TV. You can play head-to-head wireless (did so on Need for SPeed). Can play online (Haven't yet) wirelessly too. It does MP3's. It does video files. It does pictures. It slices, dices and makes jullianne fries. It even can make a fanboy cry.

<Bunny> Makes me horny.
<Mara-chan> SHUSH!

Anyway... where was I? OH yeah...

THe only downsides:
- Price (duh)
- The UMD's (disks for the machine) don't have a full cover, so you either gotta buy a holder, or keep em in their box (which is almost the size of a DVD case). So you can't just throw em in your pocket like GBA games.
- No 'chapter select' on movies... at least not on Spiderman 2. There's 'next chapter', but if you leave off late in the movie you have to keep hitting 'next'.
- FINGERPRINTS!
- No good fighting/shooting games yet. GTA in May though. ^_^
- 32mb memory card free is nice... but a bigger one is needed if you want to mess with movies and such.

more news as it happens.

Re: PSP

Phht, I don't know what the big deal is about the things. Like 5 of my friends have them, and they rave and rave, but I get them to show me whats so great, and I finally decided a laptop is 10 times the use for cost, and the size makes it just 5 times greater than a PSP.

The PSP is just a mini-comp, nothing more, so why go mini? The only reason I could see to do so is that you wouldn't be able to carry/use a laptop due to low space.

However, its not like you should be whipping your laptop OR PSP out in class and watching Spiderman 2 with no sound or something while pretending to take notes...

I seriously can't think of any situation that I would ever get into without direct manipulation from others or myself, that would cause me to need a PSP over a slim, light laptop.

Now, I haven't yet found the need for a laptop either, so the PSP is like, extremely low on my 'things I need' list.

Heck, its not even on my 'things I want' list.
