Full Moon Wo Sagashte
Okay, just to get the ball rolling in this forum. Has anyone heard or seen this besides myself. On occasion I'll see a Meroko walking around at the con, but this still seems to be a mostly unknown series.
Story is basically about a sickly young girl named Mitsuki who lives with her grandmother. Mitsuki's one dream is to become a singer to fufill a promise between her and a boy(Eichi) she fell in love with the orphanage after her parents were killed in a car crash. Only problem, she's got throat cancer.(Hard to belive this is a happy shojo series) Anyway, Mitsuki later encounters two Shinigami(grim reapers for kids) who tell her she only has one year left to live. Instead of letting it get her down, she decides that she only has one chance make her dream a reality and with the help of the Shinigami attempts to become an idol singer and find Eichi-kun.
The description likens it to other shows like Fancy Lala or Maze, but unlike these Full Moon also includes darker themes and a not so bright-light at the end of the tunnel. The characters are almost without exception likable and funny. The animation, while not incorporating too much movement tends to be bright and captivating. I definetly suggest checking this out if you enjoy a good shojo with just the right mix of angst and cute.

Re: Full Moon Wo Sagashte
I know how you feel. ;p
I recommend Tenjo Tenge to my friends, then they get ahead of me. Stupid slow computer...
Full Moon Wo Sagashte sounds great, despite the sad side to it. Reminds me of watching Mahoromatic and that evil "days left until shutdown" counter after each episode.

Re: Full Moon Wo Sagashte
What's Tenjo Tenge?
Am I out of the loop, or do I just read too much domestic manga and not enough imported anime?

Re: Full Moon Wo Sagashte
There's actually 52 eps and a horrid TV special that should never again see the light of day.

Re: Full Moon Wo Sagashte
Tenjo Tenge = Fighting high school students
Very kewl, very hip, very fresh.
There was a TT crew at Metrocon during the idol contest. They danced to the opening theme like they do in...well...the opening theme. ^_^ One of the cosplayers was named "Chino" I think. He was the dancing Megaman at Megacon this year. I went nuts when the music started. Heh...
One thing about Tenjo Tenge I like is that they have a black major character that's taken seriously and drawn well. How often do you see that in anime? Go Bob!
