Re: Fullmetal Alchemist

I enjoyed FMA (Japanese subbed) until it got heavy into the Sorcerer's Stone drama... then the entire series took a whole new direction from 'cool powers + comedy' to 'sad flahsbacks + drama'.

The whole soul transfer thing with his father and the woman I saw coming like 9 episodes away... heck, in the few novels I've written but failed to publish (They want you to edit soooo much... as if spelling counts... heh) that was a common theme.

I mean, immortality itself, particularly in modern days, where genetic alteration brings us within the grasp of immortality during our current lifetimes (its one of my goals dangit), is a very common theme.

It was well done I'll admit, and the ending was good... although I would have thought as a 'scientist' Ed would have realized flying through space and inter-dimensional travel aren't even in the same ball-park, even in a theoretical sense.

Oh, and if you want to see Card Captor Sakura with super-high DVD quality and dub/no dub with subs/no subs (sorry, its DVD subs) for free... yes, for free... google bittornado, download it, then go here:

omeganime.edwardk.info

We also are doing Onegai Twins, Gundam SEED (bleh), Stellvia of the Univers (A+++), and soon I'll be ripping Ranma 1/2 and a wealth of other series... probably Comic Party.

www.boxtorrents.com (everything you can think of that ever existed as an anime, including soundtracks... no guarantee that the seeds are still active)
www.hongfire.com (not as much as boxtorrents but only active files for the most part)

Also visit OmegAnime at irc.rizon.net in #OmegAnime !

Re: Fullmetal Alchemist

i read the FMA manga and really fell in love w/ the comedy and such.(i luv Winry) i've seen 1 episode on CN and the voices kinda ruined it for me. that's the same thing that happen to me w/ inuyasha. i was so intriqued w/ the manga and saw the whole 1st season and almost died over inuyasha's voice. i had to watch the 1st movie in jappanese w/ subtitles so i wouldn't throw my friend's tv out the window.
cardcaptor sakura is my favorite manga ever. and then i saw the dubbed version on WB and i almost cried. how could they make syaoran so anrgy and snubby and kero-chan so horrible and mean-like? they made toya out to be a jerk too. and the whole adding a billion cards to the show to make more episodes? who came up w/ those? any-ways.....ummm.....why did i start this post again?

Ok... they didn't need to make Li more of a part... he was already really integrated into the show... it was only because they edited all of the gayish scenes out involving Li (roughly 30% of the series) trying to sort out his feelings over Sakura's brother's friend... who's name has left my mind at the moment.

The Japanese original (with subs) is not only better, but more than 2 times as long.

Yeah, it wasn't adding more Li, it was taking out more of Sakura and Tomoyo's scenes.

...don't call her Madison!

The manga and anime don't match up, but there's just as much card catching. IN fact, the number of cards there are in Clow or Sakura's decks is a LOT more than shown in the series or movies. They kinda fluffed over a few.

Her brother was always a jerk. But he was tempered down in scenes that got cut on the WB. They chopped it up WAY too much.

*sigh*

Well, I thought they did a good job cutting stuff out of the story when they made the anime as opposed the manga... as in, the teacher proposing to his 12 year old student.
