Favorite type of characters in Manga
As some of you know (and from my signature) I'm currently writing a Manga... the first volume is just in the 'details' phase of the writing, and awaiting an artist (several option available, including holding the project while I study the art for a few months until I can do at least the semi-simple positions and angles we setup in the first volume... volume 2 has action)
I'd like to know, as a sort of research, what your favorite types of characters are for:
Bad guys
Group leaders
Sexy girl characters
Sexy guy characters
Fighters (male/female)
Good guys
I'm talking both personality and appearance here... our 6 main characters are already worked out appearance wise, but we introduce 6 opposing ones (they work in groups... won't tell you why) in volume 1 and leave it on a cliffhanger so everyone will wait anxiously for volume 2. (Yes, we have succumbed to the evils of manipulating our fans!)
The 6 opposing characters aren't actualy 'evil', just like rivals... so no sick, twisted, or otherwise demonic people... and all but one needs to be completely human.

do you want us to write what our fav chars are in mangas that already exsit? or just write what we like to see pertain to the characters? i think its the second one. but who knows im asleep now.

Gosh, all I really know is anime so you'll have to go with that:
Bad guys: Evil but chivalrous about it.
Group leaders: The funny morons
Sexy girl characters: Kind of hard for me to say but I think sweet is sexy.
Sexy guy characters: Gentlemanly
Fighters (male/female): Those who are competent in their art.
Good guys: Those that hold a little rivalry but yet work together when the time comes.
Do these sound vague?

Bad guys:Fight for a cause, not really "evil"
Group leaders: Stoic, wise, secretive
Sexy girl characters: Hmm...Boobs? oh and a nice personality I guess
Fighters (male/female: I always like the character with the wierd/original weapon, like Sango(Inuyasha), or Gaara(Naruto).
Good guys: Funny, outgoing, but not the traditional archetype.

Hehe, I like you FanBoy... oh, and any form of description is less vague than none at all... although nobody said anything about appearance.
Here's some of my favorite types:
Bad Guys: The stereotypical 'evil' ones that spend like 3 episodes yak yak yacking and give the good guys time to heal, think of an idea, do their super-mega-ultra-special attack of doomness or something.
Group Leaders: The kind that hate to lead, nobody listens to, but when it comes down to it take the position naturally, and everyone follows their intructions before they even realize who it is they're taking orders from.
Sexy girl characters: I'm totally into the whole 'agressive/slightly animalistic (as in fangish teach, anc cat ears... mmmm cat ears)'. Boobs mean almost nothing too me (unless there aren't any at all, or they are obsurdely large... which is just gross) what I go for is the face... so anime is great cause the faces are always symetrical (in any commercial anime/manga at least) and well colored. For this reason I don't like older/faded color type anime/manga, or black and white manga for that matter... the face loses a huge amount of its 'healthiness' when it has no color or bad color.
Sexy guy characters: If I have to answer, then it would be the ones who AREN'T female character models with guy voices, no breasts and a package... it would be the GUY characters that women find attractive because they are naturally so (From the few studies I've read by women on things women are attracted to, a healthy body/face, sense of self-respect, and evidence of the abilities necessary to thrive are the tope 3 most attractive features... so I just don't get the whole 'feminine' thing... unless women are naturally bi-sexual and they just don't want to admit it)
Fighters (male): I love the hand to hand combat characters... you know, with the long que, chinese fighting costume, and the efficient but cool looking moves that focus on quick, powerful blows to critical areas that you know hurt like heck. I like them to have an unarrogant personality, treating even easy win fights with their all, giving their opponent no quarter, and giving everyone the same level of initial respect when they haven't met them or fought them before.
Fighters (female): Its all about flexibility... women don't have the natural power that men's bodies do, but by utilizing the fact that their slimmer musculature and litther tendons give them a greater range of motion and quicker reactions than their male counter-parts, technique based fighting styles are the coolest... the ones that use their enemy's own movements against them and make them look like fools with hardly any effort on the fighter's part. I guess I like the same personality type as the male fighter... arrogant or self-depreciative characters piss me off.
Good guys: Gotta be the ones that are full of life and energy, willing to try anything, and without hesitation will risk their lives to save their friends or allies. So, take Naruto (from Naruto) and remove the 'idiotic arrogance' from his personality, and he hits upond my 'ideal good guy/fighter' character.
