They DID show the first episode of Cardcaptor Sakura in Cardcaptors... but it was done as a FLASHBACK! An episode hacked to bits. x_x
As for the Ranma themes.. the actual SONG has nothing to do with it... the "Meet Ranma Saotome..." part (which I think was added by viz at times) DID recap, but it wasn't part of the theme.

I think I said that the theme didn't actually recap what the show was about--it just went into the fractured Ranma/Akane romance, which is a big part of the show, though, admittedly, not the whole show.
Oh, and I think the "Meet Ranma Saotome" bit was in the original version--I have the subtitled version, and it had that in there--in Japanese. So unless Viz took the trouble to hire a Japanese VA to do that bit, it was there to begin with.

Well, depends on which song you mean. the "Yappapa" song didn't. Some of the others did.
The 'meet ranma' thing was in Japanese, but I dunno if it was before EVERY episode.
