Cross Stitching Fun
One of my favorite hobbies is cross stitching. I make my own patterns and I usually do a couple to take to my closest anime convention (Animazement in Durham, NC). I've done some of P-Chan (Ranma 1/2), Skuld (Oh! My Goddess), Kero chan (Cardcaptor) and even did one of Seraphim that was given to Fred at ACen. And now I would like to do one of Mara chan. Is there a good clear colored pic of Mara and Bunny somewhere on the site that I could use as a pattern for my pattern? I thought of using the logo but I would really like to have bunny in it. And of course, if I do this it's not for profit. It will go to the wonderful folks that make this webcomic so great.

Re: Cross Stitching Fun
yeah, our grand theft auto omake i drew with bunny and mara holing guns was in color. bunny has hot pink hair her carrot shirts are probably either blue or pink theres no real color to her shirt just has to have the carrot on it which is what our back round looks like.
mara's hair is blond with a red bow, and ive decided that her shirt of choice is white with a blue stripe acoss it and on the bottom of the sleeves. her pants are khaki colored, same with bunnys pants only hers are shorter

Re: Cross Stitching Fun
I found the Grand Theft Omake. However, while digging for that I came across the Chibi Mara chan Omake and remembered when I first saw that one that it would be a cute cross stitch. So, what I am doing is using your color specs and colorizing that one. It usually takes me a day or two to do this so I'll let you know if that came out OK. Then it only takes 2 to 3 months for the actually stitching depending on the size of the piece. I'll keep you posted.

Let Dot know if you have questions on the colors. I'm a bit colorblind, so I'm kinda useless that way. ^^;

Re: Cross Stitching Fun
Heh, I have the common 'male' red/blue problem, where I see some violets as blues, and some blues as violets (slight inability to distinguish close shades of red/blue combinations). The funny thing? This 'disorder' is found in more than 70% of males, but less than 15% of females. So guys are almost all a little colorblind.
Also, did you know, less than 5% of 'colorblind' people can't see colors other than black and white like dogs? Usually 'colorblindness' is just what they call it when someone's brain sees one primary color as another (ie, red as green, or blue as red, complete mixup, not slight or partial).
The really funny thing? Because we can't see what everyone else sees, its practically impossible without brainwave color recognition testing to actually tell is someone has this type of colorblindness!
Oh, and I've done a tiny bit of cross-stitching, but I have to say, very nice job... especially on the kanji.

I'm 75% done with the pattern. It's really cute so far. Hardest part is always the eyes because you want to capture the expression that the original drawing has.
Anyway, when I finish the pattern I'll scan it and send that to Dot and see what she thinks of the colors. When I get her approval I'll start the stitching.

Re: Cross Stitching Fun
Pattern finished and they are sooooooooo adorable.
However, major malfuntion with the scanner. I can scan but it has a big blue streak down it. Regardless, I'm sending them on to you Dot to see. I think the colors came out well. I'm going out now to get my thread.
