I'm back, beotch!
Finally, at last, I return.
Shuddup, you damn crickets! 
Basically, what happened is I suffered a major meltdown that took out my motherboard and my primary hard drive. It took quite a damn while to raise the extra cash and get it repaired.
On the bright side, all the data on my hard drive was recoverable, and I was even able to transfer all my contact info and favorites lists to my new drive's OS. I just needed to do some spot re-installations here and there, to replace lost registry entries and dll files. I did have to get a new account here, though--I couldn't for the life of me remember my old username and password. 
Oh, well, at least I'm back, enjoying the further adventures of Mara and Bunny. Just in time for the regular story to continue, I see!

I was so used to you killing your machine or internet connection, I'm suprised you were on for that long. ^_^;
Glad you're back. Sunday will be an Xmas omake, Wed/Thurs for the comic.

Personally, I think my computer suddenly realized that it had gone for so long without a major breakdown, and died from the shock. 
Everything seems to be running fine now, though, except when I try to play Civ4...for some reason, my video likes to cut out at random times while I play that, though I can still hear the game running through the speakers, and things apparently happen when I click the mouse/press a key. Have no idea what, though, with no video. I have to reset my computer to get my video back. Sucks.
Oh, well. Maybe I just need a better video card. It's about time I got one, anyway... 
Anyway, glad to be back.
Hm? Oh, Kyle says to give his avatar in your world more dialogue. He's not *that* kind of athlete!

See, that's where you went wrong. You expected your computer to not only stay ON but also DO something.

Kyle doesn't get much screen time basically... because no one has lately. He may get more time when we go on to the next storyline, but this one he didn't fit in too much. You'll see on Sunday.
I see Miko's still around. ^_^

I spent $300 fixing this thing--damn right I expect it to do something! Other than crashing, that is.
Yeah, this is something I've been noticing. Hardly any character other than Mara and Bunny get any panel time. Jade and...er...that other friend...um...chopstick head...

Helena! See? I had to look her name up! She's never in the comic! I think I last saw her at the food fight, munching away, just cameo-ing.

Ah, whatever! My point is that your supporting cast can't support if they never do anything. What happened to Hiroshi? (I had to look *that* name up, too.) He supposedly came to America with the girls as an exchange student, but he has yet to show up. Did Mara and Bunny shove him out of the plane somewhere over the Pacific? (Not that I'd blame them... )
And on the subject of Kyle's dialogue, the main problem is that he doesn't really have any. I went though the archives, and except when saying Bunny's name once (in a dream), his dialogue has been been completely monosyllabic. Like I said, Kyle's not that kind of athlete!

Anyway, I just wanted to get that off my chest. Miko has something to say now...

*Miko tugs on her T-shirt, which shimmers, the letters of its slogan shifting to form a new slogan: 'The hottest babe...' She tugs it again, and the letters flow: '...you've ever met.' Another tug: 'Now don't you wish...' And another: '...this shirt was wet?'*
<Kumi> Wow...that was incredibly...
<Miko> Cool? Awesome? Mad roxxors?
<Kumi> Silly.
*Miko glares and stomps her foot, making her chest bounce, which sets off her T-shirt one more time. Now it says: 'Bishie Shave'*

*In the background is a furry Muppet in a fedora, holding a sign reading "*I* wish it was wet!"*

Fair arguments... let's take these a couple at a time.
First Jade and Helena. We kinda didn't have much for them to do. Originally Jade wasn't supposed to be a classmate (she's a friend of ours in RL). 'Chopstick head' Helena was the same. We needed someone for the girls to talk to in school, and lately they haven't been in school. I haven't written the next chapter yet (doing that this weekend), but they MAY show up in the next storyline. It's just hard to fit them in. Just like the many many sigs in the sigwars, sometimes the ones you got just didn't fit in the stories.
Hiroshi... well... we kinda forgot about him. We had... well, *I* had ideas for stories for them in Japan, and for things for him to do when he got to the US... fish out of water ideas... and then Christmas 2004 hit. Chaos. We barely got through the main storyline before Dottie had to get back to school. Not to mention the crunch for wedding plans. That's why there was that crayon-drawing comic to hurry things along. We just kind of forgot about him. ^^; I'm actually working on a story to explain that. There's so much more I wanted to do with the girls in Japan that never came to be. *sigh*
Now Kyle... Hmm... I've kinda avoided using him too much mainly cuz the comic is supposed to be about Mara... it's her name on the comic. ^_- And stories involving Kyle would be more Bunny stories. Didn't want her turning the comic into the Bunny Show. I haven't really had much for him to do yet... although we were thinking of a Fanboy/Kyle showdown (since Fanboy's always hanging around Bunny). Again, with the new storyline coming, he may get more screen time. I just have to work out where he fits in. Originally I had him not too interested in cons, so maybe next time he'll join the girls.
This weekend you WILL see a comic with Kyle. This had been planned for a little bit.
Basically, since the summer the other characters really haven't been involved. The food fight was with Nina... then jobs (away from school and such)... and the Mara/Jon thing...
For added fun, go back and see how early you can find Jon in the background. ^_^
I take all feedback into consideration, so I'll see what we can do about the secondary characters...
Cept maybe Hiroshi.

Whoa! Actual dialogue from Kyle in the latest! Woo-hoo! And a POed Fanboy, from the looks of it...
Personally, I've always felt that Bunny is a much a starring character as Mara-chan herself, despite the comic's title. I mean, even your banner ads tell us to "follow the bunny..." Therefore, Bunny's relationship with Kyle should be a relatively important aspect.
Okay, I admit to a certain bias towards Kyle, since he was originally my creation...
Hiroshi got lost and is wandering the streets of an unfamiliar American city? Why am I getting flashes of the video to "Pretty Fly for a White Guy" popping into my head? Okay, Hiroshi's not white, but same difference... 
Poor, poor Hiroshi...

Between 'chapters' or maybe as an omake we probably should do SOMETHING to cover what happened to him. ^^;
And Yeah, Kyle got lines. I don't think he's a dumb jock type, just softspoken. Now if someone started some **** with Bunny, I'm sure we'd hear him loud and clear.
As for Fanboy... well, he (like all fanboys) likes the girls with the big boobs. But Bunny sees him more as a pet. One step below friend. ^^; Not that she's mean about it, but She just don't picture him as a real guy, and he doesn't care, as long as he gets to hang with Bunny.
And Kyle knows he's no threat. Kinda treats him like Bunny's little brother or something. Fanboy hasn't pissed off Kyle... Yet.
