A Mara-chan moment?
I had a Mara-chan moment earlier today...
It all started when I decided to go to Greenwood (a small city about 40 miles north of where I live, just south of Indianapolis--though there's no real gap between the two cities...) to see if I could find a copy of Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends. I've been trying to find it everywhere around Columbus, with no luck--most people claim they never even heard of it. So, anyway, I decided to try EB Games at the mall in Greenwood. I figured if anyone would have it, they would.
No such luck. They had just about every other Dynasty Warrior game in existence, but not the one I was looking for. At least they admitted knowing about it.
So I spent some time wandering around the mall. I was here anyway, I had some money to burn--dammit, I was going to buy *something*. So I got a couple of other games (Magna Carta: Tears of Blood and Dead or Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball (yeah, yeah, I'm a perv--shut up )) and some manga graphic novels (DBZ 24, Kingdom Hearts 2 (not the game, the manga), and Dr. Slump 6), then ate at the food court (only after I was done did I remember that some of the tax I paid for my food went for that damn new Colts stadium that they don't need or deserve )
Finally, I was done. I'd given up on DW5:XL for the time being. But, on a whim, I decided to go to a used book store I remembered from previous visits to Greenwood. When I got to the shopping center where it was, I noticed a store that hadn't been there last time--the Game Stop. I stopped in, just to see what it had. Guess what I found? A brand-new, beautiful copy of DW5:XL, just sitting on the shelf. Thank God I still had enough money left to buy it, or there might have been a very embarrassing scene there...a grown man, bawling.
So what does any of this have to do with a Mara-chan moment? Well, when I went to the counter to pay for it, I noticed the guy working the register looked a lot like Kyle--not my mental vision of him, but the version Dot draws in the comic (except with a thicker neck ) Then I glanced at his employee nametag.
"Kyle"
I didn't ask if he had a girlfriend named Bunny. I was too afraid he'd say yes.
